Matt's Weekly Weapons

Hello Ladies and Gents,

I trust you all had a good weekend, I hope some of you saw Loco Dice destroy WHP on Friday… that was absolutely mental, the man is a total bad ass. Anyway here are 5 more tunes to keep your fingers clicking till ‘La semaine prochaine!’ Beware, this week I’ve gone pretty hard with the tunes…. enjoy at your own risk…..

DJ Sossa - Jurassik

I'm gonna start this week with a vintage DC-10 mind bender from 2008. DJ Sossa has been melting brains on the White Isle for years. This is his most innovative track and something which I always reach for. A true stone cold classic. This is 100% afterparty and 100% awesome. Will DC-10 and Sossa be reunited next year? Who knows....

Guido Schneider meets Jens Bond - Getting Sleepy (Original Mix)

This week I’m definitely erring on the weird side, and the vocal in this song reminds me of The Horrorist – One Night in NYC (which if you haven’t heard, you need to it’s a weapon, check out the Villalobos and Chris Leibing remixes). I love the creepy vocoded vocals! Driving, relentless and eccentric throughout this track is simply awesome, get it in the crate now!

Martyn - Elden St (Sebo K Watergate edit)

After seeing Martyn ‘ruin and confuse’ (to quote one rather wasted chap there) the Panorama Bar crowd with his broken dub techno, I was really excited to hear this track. Sebo brings a bit more stability and groove to the track without losing the haunting rising melody that brings this song to its crescendo. A really slick production that affirms techno’s on going love affair with his mistress called dub.

Ben Klock / Precious System - In a While / The Voice from Planet Love

Dixon is basically a legend in my book. Innervisions makes me very excited but the Temporary Secretary mix didn’t really convey his greatness, but his edits effort contains this absolute Monster. Ben ‘9 Hour Sets’ Klock along with Marcel ‘definitely 9 Hours’ Dettman are leading the way in techno at the moment and Ben’s mash-up is expertly layered together. Just a real banger really.

Planetary Assault Systems - X Speaks To X (Appleblim & Al Tourettes remix)

Now prepare for this one… it is so savage. This is straight from Berghain, 11am grit right there. Marcel Dettman has been murdering this track at the moment and at the moment if he says jump everyone says ‘How high?’ Basically this track made me do a little poo. Actually quite scary, but epic – Osgut imprint never, ever disappoints!

Okay kids, that’s your lot for this week, it was a total techno bass fest, maybe its because I had a mental weekend and maybe its because I want to scare you all a bit…. next week will be MUCH deeper I promise!

Much Love,

Matt

Been playing the getting sleepy track for a while. It's brilliant. Sounded so good when Villalobos dropped it at Fabric's birthday. Got the Planetary Assault Systems release delivered on Monday. Techno monster!

Nice work there Matt
