A bit more on DoD...
Glastonbury, Glade Festival and Electric Picnic all felt the power of ‘Doom during 2009, with headline slots on Arcadia Spectacular’s phenomenal After Burner rig. These three gigs alone saw them perform to in excess of eight thousand people. Add to this a steady stream of club gigs in the UK and Europe, headlining The Greatest Show On Earth on New Years Eve in Bristol, a stream of filthy wobble-core and the stage is set for 2010 to be the Year of Doom.
‘I can’t live without playing ‘The Click’ (Etienne De Crecy)
Three seminal EPs - The Click (Passenger Records) Warpig (Coco Machete) and In Effect (Gung Ho!) - the latter going straight in at no. 5 on the Buzz Chart - have drawn enthusiastic support from a right mixed bag of DJs such as AutoKratz, Etienne De Crecy, Alex Metric, DJ Zinc, Doorly, Fake Blood, Mason, Rex The Dog through to Pete Tong, Groove Armada, Axwell and The Crystal Method.
‘Been playing Warpig all summer... it’s great’ (Fake Blood)
On the remix front, the duo have torn apart singles by Fukkk Offf (Coco Machete) BYOB (Skint) Foamo (Skint) Etienne De Crecy (Different) Tai (Coco Machete) Hiroki Esashika (Taste/d) and now their most recent output has caught major label ears with Diddy commissioning not one, but two remixes from the duo for his forthcoming album release scheduled for 2010.
‘Hot, Hot, Hot’ (Pete Tong)
This year is already gaining momentum, with many UK dates in the diary and overseas gigs scheduled at Razzmatazz (Barcelona) and Springten Festival (Austria). Plus there’s a new single already in the pipeline and a landslide of remixes due out on a variety of labels - and it's still only February.
‘Amazing EP, I’ll be playing the shit out of these’ (Doorly)
Disco Of Doom have established themselves as one of the UK’s leading purveyors of wobbly filth. Brace yourselves!
