Glowsticks banned from Tiesto gig

Glowsticks, to many the very emblem of trance music, have been banned from Tiesto's upcoming gig at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

The gig, part of Tiesto's Kaleidoscope Tour, will take place on March 13.

But Arena officials fear the small plastic sticks could be dropped and crushed underfoot, spilling the small amount of liquid onto the floor causing slips and injuries. As a result they are now banned.

With that warped logic we'll assume the arena also won't be selling any drinks on the night?

They're also banning dancing for health & safety reasons, and the playing of music so as not to contravene venue sound regulations.

Basically people are just paying to stand in silence, perfectly still, for two hours whilst Tiesto holds his arms in the air and looks smug.

They were banned at Brixton Academy last Thursday. I had all mine taken away :(

Some people still sneaked some in though. Big posters around the place said it was because of Health & Safety.
