From the age of five Ben started playing music and singing. He was brought up initially on Classical music, before getting into Rock n Roll, Hip Hop, Jazz and Jungle. Subsequently, he's a trained cellist, vocalist and pianist.

In 2001 Ben moved to Bristol with the sole intention of making music. After getting himself set up, Ben was signed by Gilles Peterson to his label Browswood Recordings, after hearing a demo by chance in the back of a Saab 900.

In 2007 Brownswood Records released Ben Westbeech's debut Album 'Welcome To The Best Years Of Your Life.' This release led Ben to tour the world both as a live act and as a DJ at prestigious events and clubs including Summer Sonic (Japan), Glastonbury, The End, Cielo (New York), Fabric, Yellow (Japan), The Jools Holland Show (TV), Pardiso (Amsterdam), Pacha (Ibiza and Moscow), Ku de Ta (Bali) and Mercati Generali (Italy) amongst many others and is currently resident at the T Bar London.

In recent years, Ben has collaborated with Clipz/Redlight, Die, Jazzanova amongst others. Currently Ben is working with Professor Green producing for his new record, Kutz (Soul Jazz) Redlight (Digital Soundboy) and Rusko (Mad Decent,) in addition to many more who will feature on Ben's forthcoming house album with Strictly Rhythm due for release in late 2010.

An oldskool mix does not have to be hardcore, although hardcore is a very big part of old skool, rave music was the generic term for all the dance music being mixed at this time (early 1990's) as most dj's mixed them all together.

Fair do's, not dissing the mix as i haven't heard it, although it would be nice if you guys could cover other genres before posting more of the same genre, i do know one of the main reasons why the same genre keeps getting posted a lot, is because house is one of the biggest (most popular) and oldest genres of them all.
