Ali hails from the north west of England where he began djing 14 years ago. He started experimenting with making machine music around 97 which later resulted in the upstart of Human Shield records together with cohorts Peter Mangalore and Tommy Walker 3.

He is one half of synth-pop sensations Heartbreak who released their debut album 'Lies' in 2008. His alias 'Cestrian' with releases on Bunker, MNX and Human Shield reveals a darker side to Ali's production style.

Now he co-runs labels Human Shield and Cyber Dance records and is involved with Magic Waves Radio, Cyber Dance's broadcasting project, which is now hosted on Dutch Internet radio station Intergalactic FM.

Releasing solo records since 2003, including four very fine 12"s for London's now defunct Dissident label, his dj sets vary from Italo disco, techno and electro depending on the nights theme. A talented producer and dj openly in thrall of the 80's heyday of synth-pop and italo disco, 2010 will be a defining year for ali seeing more releases and collaborations including his debut album.
