They say clothes maketh the man. But they also help to make Snowbombing the most colourful thing to happen in the Austrian Alps since Fritz Gruber’s paint factory exploded in 1979 (the hills were alive that day all right – with the smell of eggshell).

We are (or should that be ‘you’) are renowned for stretching the realms of sartorial silliness and donning all kind of outlandish kit on a daily basis and transforming the chocolate box ‘Hansel & Gretel’ alpine village into a huge dressing up box – think “Mr. Benn’s” shop but with snow, sausages and schnapps, and you pretty much get the picture…

This year’s themes have been decided after the Snowbombing synod sat for 72 hours in a darkened and locked room and channeled the spirits of Alexander McQueen, Liberace, Miss Ga Ga’s recently deceased chiahuahua and the former wardrobe mistress of “Chucklevision” (1981-97).

The result is the following programme of costumed capery:

MONDAY - Dave Beer’s Backcountry Barndance Celebrates the Wild Wild West

Yee haa! It’s a rootin’ tootin’ crazy cowboy & idiotic injun western theme. Young guns, old timers, Mexican bandito’s, good time gingham gals, pony-tailed country cousin’s, loin-cloths, face paint, sultry squaws, and Wild Bill Hickok. Think ‘Brokeback Mountain’ with snow. More of a schnitzel than a spaghetti Western… noon’s never been so high!

TUESDAY - Fictitious & Flirtatious

You just couldn’t make it up – so it’s just as well somebody else already has!… A feast of vicious, fictitious figures. Be inspired by anyone who never existed! From Gandalf the Grey, Lara Croft and Peter Pan to Catwoman, Zorro and Santa Claus (only joking about that last one, kiddies). This could be from the past or present – or even the future if you’re a time traveler (and if you are pop into the office and let us know if little Cruz Beckham gets to play for England, ‘cos we can get 100-1 at the mo). Points given for the most unlikely couples: e.g. Sherlock Holmes and Betty Boo.

WEDNESDAY - ‘Come as you aren’t’ Street Party – Anything Goes!

Freedom from convention. Dress as anyone – or anything. No boundaries, no rules and the only limit is your waistline (and maybe inside leg) – the World really is your oyster…so don’t clam up, ha!ha!ha!ha!

WEDNESDAY - Jezebel Presents the Ice ball in Narnia.

Don those frocks and frills and get on down to the mystical world of Narnia for some glamour ‘n’ glitz. Think fur mufflers, glass slippers, DJ’s (the ones you wear), dickie bows, slicked back hair, tiaras and tantrums.

THURSDAY - Rubiks Cube

The Rubiks Cube party concept is simple. Everyone dresses in all six colours of the Rubix cube (white, red, blue, orange, green, and yellow). By the end of the party, everyone must try to be dressed in just one colour, by trading articles of clothing with other partygoers. It’ll be a riot of stripping, swapping, trying on and tugging off…be there AND be square!!!

THURSDAY - Squeaky Hill Backcountry party celebrates the Mexican Day of the Dead

Don your skull faces and get those Tequilas down you!!! Squeaky hill will be transporting you all the way to Mexico to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Expect dead celebs, Thriller Line dance, Face Painting, and choons from beyond the grave!! Think Tim Burtons Corpse Bride meets Day of The Dead!!!

FRIDAY - “Creatures of the Night… and Day”

A furiously furry flocking together for folk who like to forage in the forest! Mythical beasts and creatures of all descriptions animalistic assemble in a forest clearing as the sun goes down: dress as a unicorn, faerie, elf, Bigfoot or dragon. Or come as a wolf, owl, squirrel, rabbit, eagle, chipmunk, ferret, fox or moose: just make an effort ‘cos it’ll be a right giraffe (and you never know, there may even be some beaver…).

You need only 3 outfits.

Sexy skiwear
Bikini for the Schlussel Alm (even that's over-dressing in there)
Trackies for dossing / going to shops
