Today after week's of negotiation, the sale of Slinky Brands Ltd for 12 million pounds to Luminar Leisure has now been completed. Many of you will know Luminar as they are the company behind such places as Elements in Bournemouth, plus the Liquid and Envy club chain a recent home to Slinky.

What will this mean for Slinky? Well, the birthday is still going ahead on the 2nd of May with the advertised line-up with tickets on sale soon.

However, moving forward we understand that Luminar will be putting their own influences on Slinky's music policy, as well as re-branding many of their events across the UK as Slinky.

Lee Haslam said of the sale - we are delighted to announce this sale to Luminar Leisure , we are confident the planned musical changes will be very well received.

We have been assured by Luminar that they will still remain true to Slinky's policy of bringing big acts into the Opera House, although musically those acts might differ from the ones you're used to.

Slinky's Yakuji Love backroom concept will now be replaced with an urban R&B flavour, but rest assured it should be interesting what they do with the event.

All I can say is make sure you're at the birthday as it might be the last time you hear hard beats at a Slinky event.

Well as some of you have guessed this is an APRIL FOOL and in traditional style I had to let the cat out of the bag before noon, or of course we are the fool’s!

Anyway, for those that fell for it, shame on you! As if we would sell Slinky… We have all been working on it so hard in the last 8 months and we want to build it to become the best it can be so rest assured it is in safe hands and would never be sold to Luminar or play R N B! LOL
