Arsenal in crisis!
Flamini gone for free, Hleb leaving for £3m - absolutely terrible news for Arsenal. Flamini can probably be replaced, as his main asset is his workrate, but that combined with Hleb going, one of our star performers this season, is a huge blow.

Wenger simply has to open up the chequebook this summer and spend big. With two first teamers leaving, and the need for at least three new players even if the squad had stayed together, I would say that £60-70m must be spent to ensure top four status next season.

On the shopping list must be a defensive midfielder, centre back and winger(s). Wenger has to put his ego aside for a moment and realise that some of the current squad aren't up to it. If there is money to spend, he needs to be making moves for players now.

I'm beginning to wonder if they will ever be good enough to step up to the first team.

Well if Wenger stays true to form they will have to be. One thing I do respect about Wenger is that he shows faith in his young players and they in turn pay him back for his faith in them. It's backfired slightly this season due mostly to inexperience and I think that's what he needs to bring into the team. I'm sorry but for me Gallas isn't a leader the way Viera or Adams was. Maybe Fabregas is ready for it, he would be better than Gallas IMO or even Toure.

I think he doesn need to bring in at least two expreienced league winning players into the squad though that aren't past it.

Oh and with regards to Flamini I don't blame him for doing one to AC. go back two years ago and I think even he would admit that he would never have dreamed AC would come knocking his door asking for his service with the kind of sign on fee they offered him.

If he's going for football reasons (highly unlikely), I think he will end up regretting it. I can't see him being a major force at Milan and he'll probably end up sitting on the bench for 3 years before going back to France.

I read somewhere that Wenger had a strict wage structure £55,000 P/W which he wouldnt break - that being the reason Flamini left?

That's bull and I think this is why Flamini got upset and did one. Gallas and Fabregas are definitely earning more than £55k. There is a wage structure in place at Arsenal but those two (for obvious reasons) are above it which in a way takes the piss. It wouldn't surprise me of Adebayor gets the hump if they bring in any new players cos you know no big names are gonna sign on at Arsenal on £55k a week.

Thing is he's now gonna be earning more money than he thought possible. Like I said before go about to the season before last and he was a squad player at best. If he goes back to that earning twice as much I doubt he'll be complaining too much do you?

Eboue should be sold. That cunt is a liability for us.

Depends if he's gone for football reasons. There's been a huge amount of players tempted by the money of Spain / Italy in the past, only to be stuck on the bench and forgotten about. Most players like to actually play.

Like you said before though I doubt he's gone for football reasons. AC have finished fourth in the italian league 20 points behind Inter (I know what that feels like) so it's not like he's necessarily made a step up. He also may have looked at who Arsene was saying he was gonna buy (or more importantly NOT buy) for next season and not been too impressed.

Listen to yourself. I talk about a crisis for Arsenal as in we might finish fourth next season. Your club has been in a crisis since the 60's!

Crisis is correct. Say what you will but while Flamini weren't a long term option, him being there allowed to take our time on replacing him. Then you look at Hleb, a world class play maker who lacked goal scorers to feed and you think that this summer could've rectified his problems. Now we have to replace 3/4 of a midfield. We're also in need of a new defender and we've got Wenger as a manager which means 16yo Mongolians are our most likely remedies.

We'll be fine! Hunger should be there next season even more! Clean up the goals being leeked and we'll do away better!

Fuck Flamini the greedy cunt! He spends years on our bench, finally cements his place and fucks off to a team way off the mark in their only shitty pasta league who we destroyed in their own back yard this season!

Hleb would also be an ungrateful cunt if he left! He's nothing without Arsenal! He's only as good as he is because the other midfield players are on the same wavelength as he is! Think other clubs would be ready for him? Take months!

I love that. Players bust a gut for your team and when they decide to move on they get called cunts and ungrateful before they've even left the country and yet ask you about them last week and you'd have been calling them legends.

Nice.
