Reaching Heaven - June Trance Demo (Double CD)
For the first time I've clamboured over into the dark side. For this mix I borrowed my mate's CDJ1000 in order to play a couple of amateur productions in with the other tunes. I confess it was certainly an eye opener and I'm impressed with some of the things the CDJ can do but....well....its just not the same....

But regardless I was able to throw in 3 tunes from M-3D, TGL and Reasonfreak so all wasn't wasted!

Couple of the mixes are a tad suspect if I remember but nothing too drastically serious I don't think! :D

Right Click & Save As:
REACHING HEAVEN

And the tracklist:

Agenda – Heaven (Resistance D Treatment) [Epic]
Bobina – Beautiful Friend [Maelstrom]
Basic Perspective – Small Step On The Other Side (Elevation remix) [Anjunabeats]
LNQ – You Can Trade Me For Something Good [Gesture Music]
Gerry Cuerto – Blue [Conspiracy]
Reasonfreak – Fantasy [CDR]
Mike Shiver & Marc Damon – Water Ripples (Mike Shiver’s Catching Sun mix) [Captured]
Kamil Polner – Heart Of Sun [ASOT]
Belmondo – Sunshine Dust [Electric Sauna]
LNQ – Tired [Gesture Music]
TGL – Sirens [CDR]
Passiva – Clouds Like Heaven [Captured]
Skyform – Infinite [Threshold]
Carl B – Explorations [Somatic Sense]
M-3D – Never Again [CDR]
Super8 & DJ Tab – Helsinki Scorchin’ (Alex MORPH remix)
Elude – Pergatory [Six:Thirty]
Alex MORPH & Woody Van Eyden featuring Kate Peters – Heavenly (John O’Callaghan remix) [Fenology]
Carl B – Solitude [Somatic Sense]
Fred Baker – Forever Friends (Alex MORPH remix) [Baker Street]
Firestorm & Steve Allen present F&SA – Titicaca [Dark Noize]
Terrafusion – Beyond [Equilibrium]
Nu Nrg – Casino (Brisky remix) [Monster Tunes]
Ace Da Brain – Trinity [Venom]
Apex – Virtuoso (Factoria vocal mix) [Monster Classics]

As with the last mix, there is also an encore but you'll have to listen to find out what it is ;)

Anyone wanting the double CD I should be making these over my forthcoming 4 day bank holiday weekend (yay! :D) so just PM me your snail mail address and you'll hopefully have one by the end of next week.

Enjoy!

Oh and the whole CDJ thing... I'm beginning to come around to it. I think the advantages of being able to play stuff that hasn't had to go through the expensive and time-consuming process of vinyl pressing outweigh the disadvantages of... well... it not being vinyl!

Like you said, you wanted to slip in some amateur productions - only available on digital, kids!

Cheers mate, glad you liked :)

In regards to the whole CDJ thing though, I can't help it, I'm 30, I'm stubborn, and I'm stuck in the 20th century. It was only the quality of the amateur stuff I used in the mix that I decided to let my guard down - I've never bought a tune digitally for that purpose.

To me the watching of a percentage increase in a bar on a VDU screen can't compare to opening that big envelope from Juno and having the smell hit you!

If were younger though or just starting up, or was short on cash, I can totally see the benefits of it though. Can't get my hat on with that laptop or ipod djing though.

paul van dyk and sasha are two dj's who laptop dj all the time now, kind of a shame really as it sort of defeats the objective of being a dj by having ableton live mix all your sets for you.
