In fairness, it's a hole. It should only be saved if it's going to be completely gutted. They could start by getting rid of that sticky old carpet.

It's a shame to lose a live venue, but whoever owns it has been taking the piss out of paying customers for years.

I'd also take issue with the person who wrote that petition insinuating that North London is a more dangerous place to go out in than going to the Astoria!! Have they stood around Centrepoint lately? I must have been hallucinating all those dodgy drug dealers who kept approaching me every 5 minutes when I had the misfortune to be standing outside there recently.

i remember going FANTASY FM RAVES @ ASTORIA back in the day
DJ Hype / Rap / Krome / Massive / etc etc
Manix (Real Good) Live PA
The Door security were proper ruffnecks back then!!!

LASERS > were wicked >
looked like a solid green carpet of light from the balcony.
SOUND SYSTEM > was kickin'

Not been inside since 1992 so no clue how it looks or sounds now?
But for memory lane's sake > i VOTE SAVE THE ASTORIA

Thanks everyone.

Truthfully I haven't been there since 1998 when it was in it's heyday. But this petition is for a good cause and I have a lot of good memories from that place. Thanks again x x

i used to go to jungle fever back int he day here. There's no way they should knock this place down and stick a tesco or whatever there. I'm surprised the building is not listed!

Yep, they put a friend of mine in hospital. He ended up getting a load of compensation and was one of the cases that led to security firms having to be more tightly regulated.

I've been there a lot over the years, but there's no point in saving somewhere purely for nostalgic reasons. Thankfully we all have a lot more choice about where to go and spend our hard earned cash nowadays.

I think there is, I mean even if I didn't go there anymore it'd be a shame to lose memories like that

is a bit of a shit hole

Everyone on this site should be voting to save this venue if they like the club or not !!

It always starts with a couple here and there, like Lidd Airport and classic venues like Ilford Island to name but a few.

How can you call yourself a clubber if you don't support the clubbing scene !! clubs are only rubbish if people don't support them ?

I say keep London alive vote now !!
