I've just spent two weeks in Malia and I can tell you the following:
1. Almost 100% of the clubs and bars play shitty R n B apart from the occasional lapse, perhaps on a Saturday, when Camelot has a Ministry evening or when a greek barman wacks on his 5 year old Hed Kandi CD.
2. Club UK has the potential to be good, as it plays mainly commercial dance, but it is packed full of lads from Chelmsford on package tours (no offence to the people of Chelmsford who I have upmost respect for).
3. Do not be fooled by the hustlers on the street offering you 'buy 1 get 2 free' on the street - its a rip off. Chaps - just because they are often extremely fit does not mean you have to be dragged in by your cock.
4. Do not trust Club 18-30 - they are naughty buggers.
5. Do not even consider leaving the safety (and drinking haven) of your apartment/hotel til after 12 midnite, otherwise it will be a 100 Euro affair.
6. Be prepared to have a sore throat as the ice in the drinks is made from the local water: most of the bacteria that gives you the shits dies when frozen so its only the 'throat like a badger's arse' that you will experience.
7. Go to Malibu Club for a Vodka Coke as they forget to add the Coke.
8. Go to the off licence, next to the Internet Cafe on the main beach road, and buy 47% ABV Bombay Sapphire for €10.25 - remember that it takes a bloody age to get hammered (the hot temperature lead to the continuous secretion of bodily fluid.)

I found Malia to be a wicked holiday destination as long as you can put up with the "Little Britain" atmosphere and dickheads on quad bikes.

i totally agree with what u say there now times that by 4months and u have somit close to what i had to put up with!

to be fair tho, malia is still an up and coming place, it does not have the experiance of older resorts.

Despite its flaws, Malia was a wicked holiday and probably one of the safest places you can visit (in comparison to Magaluf or Faliraki). I had a fantastic time. Hopefully it will continue to improve.

I'm not in hurry to re-book a holiday in Malia but I would recommend it as a budget destination for people who are NOT hardcore house music lovers. What is this "big summer party" then?

TBH you will find yaself working ya way round every bar in malia!! its sort of a fork shape so dont for get to turn right when you get to the massive pizza shop. other wise you'll miss lots of other bars!!

Go to cheeky 1/2s - it's quite amusing with a mix of old school house and cheesy classics - you won't find 50 Cent in here. Camelot Castle is wicked on a Saturday and also in midweek, when there are foam parties - I cannot express in words how nice it is to witness the cigarette butts/condoms etc. float to the top of the room with the foam. All the bars are pretty much the same and offer the same 'buy 4 for the price of 1' deals.
