Today is a very sad day. My good friend DJ Justmick has passed away. I'm totally devastated, but my thoughts are for his wife Kathy, his son James and his three daughter's - Evie, Amy & Natalie.

I last spoke to Mick on Monday straight after my show, and I knew the time was near, I'm so grateful that I was granted those last words with him.

Mick & me go back a long way, we've DJ'd together on radio and in clubs. We've shared so many good times, and I'll always have them in my memory no-one can take that from me.

I'll always remember Mick for his boundless energy, and for his passion for house music. Mick was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back, his last £1...

Today, I had everything planned. Luca had dropped off his mic last night for me, I was in the middle of preparing a set dedicated to Mick. I wanted to spread the news about the party we have planned for him this friday via a podcast, and then I got the news.....

I went ahead with it just the same, as we will still be doing the party to raise funds for the family. It was hard to do through the emotions, but easy to express myself through the music. I'll be uploading this very special set in the memory of DJ Justmick very soon.

What is there left to say? Mick battled hard against cancer, but it took him today despite his strength of character.

I love you Mick, and I'll never forget you.

Many people out there mainly passion fm and raw flex listeners will have herd or known dj just mick,the man was a legend always smiling always up for a party,but always there to spin choones for his family"the passion fm family" his sets were awsome,but his back to backs with lady duracel and the fun and games you had with the revrand(dj philgood) were legendary
he always had time to chat and always said hello when you first met him,after that you were micky boys mate.
your never be forgotten my friend,i know i never will 5 years ago i think i first herd him on passion maybe more but his feel for house music rubbed off on others.it did me.him and a few others were my reoson for gettin in to djing myself
but a shout goes out to the strongest women,cathy,micks wife..keep your chin up hun.hes in a pain free place now.
maybe the big man upstairs needed a shit hot dj more than we did,and what a party to be djing at.lol

So sorry to hear this, he sounds like he was a great guy.

We in Portsmouth have also just suffered the loss of a guy who created great little pub venue for the underground scene here, Rob, the landlord of the Fawcett.

May the music march on in memory of both of them.

The news yesterday really hit me bad, I didn’t think it would happen so soon.
My thoughts are with Cathy and all of his family.

The funeral is this tuesday the 3rd July at All Saints Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Pratt Street Camden, at 10pm. Then onto East Finchley cemetary. Afterwards at The Neptune, Cranleigh Street off Eversholt Street in Camden.

Also, if you can't make it you might want to sign the book of condolences which is at The Neptune pub.

RIP DJ Justmick.
