Subject
aruba poor customer service
hi everyone

i have been to aruba twice now , the first time we went was on sunday 29th of july , it had just opened the night before , i went with my girlfriend and her friend for sunday lunch , firstly my girlfriends mate has an allergy to peanuts , after asking what had peanuts on the dishes we were told what ones were safe so she chose something 20 mins later our waitress informed us that her order did have peanuts in after all and we had to change the choice she made to steak she ordered this medium rare , after about 30 mins later the steak arrived and it was well done , along with all our orders all getting messed up and taking over 2 hours to eventually get finished as the food took forever to come out , we let this slide as the meal that we eventually got was very nice , and it was there first night aswell so we expected some slip ups , so we went again on tuesday to see if it had got any better , now this time it was even worse, i phoned up and booked a table for 10 to 8 in the evening we got there only to be told that the table was outside , so we thought yeah this will be ok but when we went outside it was getting a bit breezy so we asked to be put inside on a table , they said this would be ok but we might have to wait for a table (even though we could see 4 tables free) we sat for 50 mins waiting for a table all the time asking the waitress if we could sit at the free tables only to be told they were reserved , the whole time we were waiting the tables were free eventually after 50 mins we got sat on one of the free tables , we ordered drinks wich took 30 mins to arrive , and our starters took nearly 50 mins to arrive aswell so in all we had been sat in there for over 2 hours before we had even got sight of our food, we kept asking what was going on only to be fobbed off by the waitress and the receptionist , we eventually asked for the manager , who didnt even bother to come to our table , in the end we got up and left , not before speaking to other diners who told us they had crap service , and had seen others leave because of the same reason , as we left no one even said anything to us about our drinks that we had ordered , i would totally deter anyone going to this restaraunt , the service was terrible and i dont know how the person who owns this resteraunt won an award for west beach if he runs aruba like this its going to be closed within a year , we ended up going to red panda , and getting our meal within 10 mins of getting in there ,
the restaruant looks great and is in a brilliant location but there are too many untrained staff in there , the food takes forever , drinks take just as long to arrive ,

PLEASE DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE , YOU WILL GET TREATED LIKE CRAP AND LEAVE

so because its new im supposed to let them off , i dont think so mate ! i gave them a chance by going back for a second time and they were even worse the second time around , if you open a restaruant then you opening first week everything should run perfectly , how is that a good impression for new customers , the only people i saw getting good service was the geezer who runs it , and his friends , i for one wont be going back there for food , i might however go for drinks , but ill be waiting a while before i do

don't really get why you wanted to voice a complaint about a restaurant on dontstayin?

To be honest, i don't know how they won an award for West Beach... I stopped going to eat there a couple of years ago because, although the food was pretty good (pricey, but good) the service was diabolical. I guess it must have improved...

I have eaten at Westbeach on a couple of occasions in the past six months and I've had no reason to complain.

Hey DVDA... I'd like to introduce you to a little something called the 'full stop' or as our yank friends call it, the period. Here it is again. <----

Aruba's amazing! have been twice since it opened - saturday night and again on wednesday lunchtime (best terrace in town when the sun shines!). Thank god someone's finally made the old showbar into somewhere that's worth going to! Food was great as were the cocktails :) and we had no probs with the service - fast and very smiley! gonna head down there again tomorrow for fireworks and fun!

one of my friends is a chef in there and he walked out the other day aswell , he went there on his day off and was disgusted by the service . like i said the venue is beautiful and i really hope they sort it out as i would like to go there again , the food was really nice but it took 2 hours to get it , i agree with babyfacerocks that ists the best terrace in town but ther service needs to be sorted out
