hello!

Agent 2, of Rebel Intelligence in the UK, mixes up some fine electro. kicking it off nicely is Convextion's lovely "Lament Subrosa," under his E.R.P. moniker.

Unlike most of the awful bootleg recordings of Autechre during this tour, this one is directly from the soundboard.

Kleez. One, located in the Netherlands, revisits the R+S Records' "Order to Dance 4" compilation [released in 1992] + gives a great history lesson in techno/house.

the Tangerine Dream set from 1987 demonstrates why they are such an influence on electronic music.

Two Lone Swordsmen share some of their favourite records on their BBC Radio 1 mixes.

hello!

there's not enough Ezekiel Honig in my life. his found sound + field recordings are transformed into visceral head music. it's not exactly ambient but not quite minimal either; it's warmer, deeper + just plain more. someone PLEASE book him at a venue near me! http://ezekielhonig.com

Sieg über die Sonne [Tobias Freund + Martin Schopf] play a relaxed, yet groovy + happy set that'll challenge your reluctance to bob your head. they'll be playing in Munich, de [08.12.07]. http://www.multicolor-recordings.de/-x-=+/tmp/dates.php

Bleep43 mixes up a fantastic tribute to the late James Stinson and Gerald Donald, aka Drexiya. grab your headphones + get comfortable, it's over three hours long. the right channel is a bit wonky at first but it gets sorted. Bleep43 also has a great archive so be sure to peruse those as well. http://bleep43recordings.com

I'm gutted to be missing Bloc Weekend but UK immigration won't let me return. please plan ahead if you're going to the next one [14–16 march 08]. 2007 tickets sold out 1.5 months in advance. highlights : Convextion, Monolake, Bitstream, Claro Intelecto, Radioactive Man, Amon Tobin, Luke Vibert, Digitonal, Rebel Intelligence + many more! http://www.blocweekend.com

hello!

Let's Go Outside, of Portland US, mixes up some deep beats; fun + diverse with a fantastic track list. http://www.virb.com/letsgooutside/shows/137577

Aek, from the Isle of Wight UK, makes a couple of lovely ambient dub mixes. although done about seven months apart, they make a nice pair for over three hours of aural goodness. part one is more ambient + part two is more dubby.

thanks to Dep, I've procured another Lusine set which is almost two hours long. it's from Circa Condensed + Iron City. this was accidentally titled as the tonic set before. he'll be playing in Utrecht, Vincenza + Glasgow [08–14 December 07] http://www.lusineweb.com

Sami Koivikko, of Helsinki Finland, mixes up some melodic tracks. John Tejada's 'the end of it all' closes the mix beautifully. he'll be playing a live PA at Shanti in Moscow RU [05.12.07] http://www.samikoivikko.fi/dates.html thanks pierre!

LFO, Mark Bell + Gez Varley of Leeds UK, helped to put Warp Records on the map. LFO eventually became Mark Bell alone + this set is from shortly after the 'Sheath' album release in 2003. he also collaborated with Daniel Brown on his interactive pieces. go play! http://www.play-create.com

hello!

Fabrice Lig, of Belgium, plays a fun head-bobbing set. This is the full 81 minute one, not the 44 minute one floating around. he'll be playing with Carl Craig in Antwerp, BE [14.12.07] http://www.myspace.com/fabricelig

Derek Plaslaiko plays his signature brand of eclectic goodness which always makes me move. in Brooklyn, he's a resident of the weekly bunker parties at Galapagos. http://beyondbooking.com/thebunker he'll be playing in Chicago with Bastard!!! + Matthew Martin [14.12.07]. http://meioticpromotions.com

Bauri, of Malmo Sweden, plays a lush + melodic IDM set. It's perfect for listening to while it snows relentlessly + you can't bear to leave your flat. It's probably also great for rain but I haven't test-driven that yet. http://www.bauri.tk

T.Raumschmiere, of Berlin, plays a rare mostly ambient set. Who knows what he'll be playing at Nimes, FR [15.12.07]. http://www.myspace.com/traumschmiere

In 1987, I heard New Order for the first time. It was a fateful day because that's what opened my ears to electronic music + eventually led me to today. This set is from their 1989 Technique Tour.

Anyone who's interested in how records are made should watch this informative video. it's replete with a British narrator + a funny soundtrack. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iByt8IinjC0

GESCOM
Gescom is an umbrella project of Autechre which consists of 20 to 30 like-minded artists, including Rob Hall. Their line up shifts constantly + varies from release to release, sometimes from track to track. In October, they unleashed a pair of stellar twelves. This set kicks off with the brilliant 'Lab Rat 3' by Lab Rat XL [aka James Stinson], released posthumously in October 2003. http://www.skam.co.uk

AUTECHRE
For those of you who already have this one, I removed the end of the warm-up DJ's set. Autechre is on tour, March in Europe with U.S. dates to follow. http://www.warprecords.com/?news=1372

PLAID
I've no other information about this mix except that I found it in 2001. It sounds very much like a soundtrack to an unmade film; heady + difficult but definitely worth the trip. I celebrated Plaid's U.S. tour announcement by watching Tekkonkinkreet, for which they scored the soundtrack. http://sonypictures.com/homevideo/tekkonkinkreet. thank you, Chris + Luke! http://windishagency.com/artists/plaid
