I remember oops up side your head and blame it on the boogie at club 14-18 nights in the school holidays and getting the x3 down to bournemouth from fordingbridge when I was thirteen, that was when the place was called the accademy. shit that was 21 years ago

I first started going back in the Academy days when I was an irritating uni grunge kid - Hot N Horny. Must've been 1995.

It was awesome though! I used to buy 6 bottles at a time, that way I could turn my mouth blue, dance my arse off to some old trance upstairs and not have to worry about going to the bar for at least 20 minutes! (also handy that I lived round the corner from the OH at the time, which guaranteed that I'd be there almost every Saturday...love it!)

Legend has it there are a few ghosts inhabitating the building:

Ghostly goings-on have included a clown seen floating across the ground floor and a lone member of staff hearing applause from the balcony while locking up.

A girl has also been seen to run the length of the back bar and then disappear.

Several staff, both past and present, have spotted the figure of a lady near their offices, in the back bar and on the balcony.

A team of paranormal investigators who spent a night at the Opera House in January found temperatures to drop without cause and electromagnetic meters registered a high level of activity.

They also heard a woman giggling in the balcony and small stones being thrown, along with the faint sound of music.

^^ WOMAN IN RED? This photo by the paranormal investigators shows a strange red light... and what appears to be a figure draped in cloth

^^ 1997 - The Opera House
In January 1997, the name changed to the Opera House and the famous Slinky international dance brand made its name at the venue. .

So almost 10 years of the Opera House and Slinky gets condensed into just two lines. Could have at least mentioned some of the big named djs that have played there, oh well.
