Petrol Prices!!!!! Please read And invite your buddies!!!!! Its become a joke!!!!!!
I have copied and pasted a message i received from facebook to spread the word amongst all of us d.s.i users about how we could possibly bring down the price of petrol in this country. Please read it and invite your buddies, So we could all try and make a difference.

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it

We are hitting 106.9 p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 .10 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take
a ggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers.

With the price of petrol going up more each day, we
consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send i t to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at
least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached
over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and
pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... ..

THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and
not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us
sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt,
all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the
next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference If this makes
sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE
RANGE

It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your
petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e.
boycott BP and Esso

how about the fact that BP invests the most of ALL petrol companies on petrol alternatives?

Punish the one company who are actually trying to do something about the problem!? Retarded logic.

Esso, Yes evil people... BP, No way.

Most analysts agree we've reached the maximum barrel output there is, while demands still going up... you do the maths. Alternatives are the only way forward now.

DON'T BE SHEEP, read around the issue a bit more.

for fecks sake, why do people blindly add buds to such moronic threads?

Exactly what I was thinking, reading this thread, and seeing all the slack-jawed, mouth-breathing fuckwits adding buds in the face of facts contradicting their views makes me despair for society at large...*stops before he goes on another big rant in this topic*

This is a stupid debate. I'm not reading 6 pages of chat, but it is very short sighted to think the above solution will work.

For a start, who supplies Tesco and Co-op and Sainsbury's etc. with their fuel? They certainly aren't producing it themselves.

Secondly, tax makes up the largest portion of fuel costs.

Thirdly, as I believe many people have pointed out, alternative fuel sources are the only way forward. And petrol companies aren't fools - they know this. They are the leading researchers into alternative fuel sources, and BP is at the forefront of this.

And at the end of the day, this whole idea was only started by some moron who wanted his viral email to reach as many people as possible. Why give him the satisfaction.

Oh, by the way, Hotmail is no longer going to be free. If you don't use your hotmail account regularly it will be shut down. Forward this email to as many people as you can and your account willbe spared.

BUDS NOT IN.

Taken from detail of petition:

"does the Prime Minister not think that the people of Britain will revolt again...?"

Revolt? Now THAT'S a good idea! Lets actually proper revolt this time! Oh and tax is more to blame regarding the price of petrol. He'll be rubbing his hands with glee at this little diversion...

and just out of interest, what is the concept of 'Need A Lift M8' group?

Need A Lift Mate Group? is a group on DSI anyways, designed to assist clubbers to and from raves etc that may be stuck for transport. It was designed with this in mind and for people that may well have spare seating available. Not such a bad idea.

But it seemed to tie in with the idea of lobbying parliament when fuel prices started rocketing around the 96p per litre, so I/We are petetioning downing street.

Road Haulage companies have already got the ball rolling, and farmers....etc.....are already plotting to repeat the actions of 2000 & 2001 with blockading refineries.

Cheers for the info mate, just sounded like it was a group lobbying me to force myself into a work based car sharing scheme, but a post clubbing car sharing group sounds good to me :)

I still think you're barking up the wrong tree regarding petrol prices though. Like I say, all this focus on the oil/petrol companies is diverting attention nicely from the amount of tax levvied on fuel IMO.

taking "action" to try n fight petrol prices is like running around the titanic trying to get your money back... its a waste of time, you should be looking for a lifeboat

oil - fossil fuel - dinosaur - fossil?
