Frantic NYE - Thank You
Firstly a Big Thank you to all the DJs, Clubbers, and Staff who helped make Frantic NYE 2007 another great Hard House gathering…

When we decided to put Frantic on for NYE all the usual Frantic venues like the Fridge, Koko and the Academy were booked. We decided to look high and low for a different space that would allow us to book our favourite DJs and throw one unforgettable party!

After a long search we found a place full of character behind Liverpool St Station. We then worked for many weeks to design a look and feel that would make the place come alive.

When we started the build on Saturday the space was completely empty, so we had to bring in everything from the award winning Line Array Sound to the 40 Light Effects, the Seating, the Heating, the Toilets and all the staging…We actually had 12 people work all day on NYE to set things up.

While we have already had lots of positive comments about everything from the character of the old warehouse to Mark EG and Cally’s set there are 3 things we will improve for next time:

1) The Main Room opened late. Unfortunately the Sound Company were late arriving with the final part of the sound system and this meant that they didn’t complete the set up in time. We can only apologise and will ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

2) The Toilets. We did try and book the toilets you find in the VIP area at Global and other festivals but as we were late to decide on the gig all the suppliers of Toilets had already booked out this type of Toilet. We will ensure we get these flushing toilets with running water and basins next time.

3) The Cloakroom was too small. Next time we will increase the cloakroom capacity by at least 30%.

4) The Power Cuts in the Main Room. The Main Power Cut was caused when somebody went behind the barriers and pulled the plug out of the wall. Unfortunately as it was a large venue it took our electrician time to find that this was the problem and put the plug back in. We can only apologise that something so simple interrupted your NYE partying…

We would like to invite all who attended and the many who couldn’t to our annual FREE Payback Frantic vs Moondance Party at Hidden this Sat 5th Jan. Please email full names to willfrantic@yahoo.co.uk.

Finally we would like to offer the first 100 who go to www.ticketweb.co.uk on Monday 7th January £5 limited edition discount tickets for Timeless 6 on Sat 23rd Feb. Just use the promo code ThankU08.

Chloe, what a night, Twisted Bliss loved being back on the stage at Frantic. We love working along side someone as dedicated as yourself.

I love the venue, its a shame about the few hick ups but all venues have they bad days. Cant wait to work with you again babes xxxx

Think you should have a good long rest, you deserve it xxx

Got to be honest I was utterly disappointed with the entire night, I think the only 2 good things about NYE was Cally's set and I somewhat enjoyed Whitby's set which is surprising to say the least.

It's good to see you have got a clear grasp of what needs to change and that your actually going to do something about it for the next event.

But one thing you didn't cover was what happened to Cally's 90min Exclusive set It was pretty much the only reason that I went out in London NYE and I was left wanting after they turned off the music at 05:30 and when asking someone what was going on they replied so we can get you all out by 06:00, Now don't get me wrong it doesn't specify a closing time on the flyer but looking from the set times Cally come on at 04:30 + 90mins = 06:00 which if this is the case why on earth was we denied 30mins of blissful hard house?

Oh, I am sure there is a logical reason for that hun, maybe cause of the power going down they wanted to even it all out so everyone that came for proteus got to hear him, and everyone got to hear cally. You cant always take into account for certain situations on the night hun. xxxx

I loved the venue, nice and dirty and raw xxxx

Yeah I understand that but Cally started her set on time and only played for an hour so didn't have anything to do with the power cut really of letting other dj's get there sets in?

But nice try

Got to be honest I was utterly disappointed with the entire night .. i kinda agree.. the worst part wasn't the state of the toilets or the power cuts during adam's set (although both were pretty bad), it was when they said the cloak rooms were full. having to carry ur coat n bags around can really mess ur night up.

a few good things tho:
1. frisky, adam lab4, proteus (ofcourse!) and cally were AWESOME!!!! (i somehow missed dean and d4rk!)
2. i also got the chance to meet loads of dsi peeps <3<3<3 okjjo, fullah, stompkat, um.....
3. i got a cally gage autograph on a token (nice touch those tokens, felt like a kid again)
4. peyote and i had a (very) brief chat with proteus.. lol

I was left wanting after they turned off the music at 05:30 me2 :( cally kicked ass!

ah well, an evening out is always what u make of it... happy new year every1 xx
special thanx 2 badmouse, treesa and peyote for making my nye kinda gr8 - luv u guys!!

I have to agree I was really disappointed with last night.

The music was too quiet (What happened with the Turbo Sound Rig? Wasn't very turboey), the decor was crap (a couple of frantic signs hanging up!) It was bloody cold with no signs of heaters being anywhere. The toilets were dark and why were the other toilets not booked well in advance? Its not like NYE is a different date every year is it?

No heating for the smokers outside as promised. All and all it was pretty poor. Which is a real shame as you had some fantatsic Dj's there last night with some great potential to make a great NYE party.

Last night just seemed to be an amateurish attempt at throwing a NYE event and it seemed like everything was left until the last minute. And why oh why did you employ an electrican that allowed the whole of the main room be run through one plug socket?

Not a good start to the new year, if you are planning another frantic event for NYE08 best you get started now but I don't expect you'll see anyone from last night there.

Oh the flyers looked good though.

I think you lot are being a bit harsh. I had a fuckin' awesome time. Loved the venue, absolutley wicked place for some raving to take place and I really enjoyed it.

Didnt feel the cold personally because I used my noggin and took a warm but dancing friendly jacket (I mean, HELLO, its a fooking warehouse!). I made that mistake at Awsum so came prepared this time. :0)

Really enjoyed The Great White and Friskys sets, some seriously badbwoy tuneage was had, wish I coulda stayed for Proteus, D4rk and Andy Rise and Matt Pick-Up but I had other commitments.

Deffo one of my better NYEs.

well, i don't think that i am being harsh as there were so many people desperate to leave by 1am. when adam lab4 finished his set there was a rauchous booing and chants of you are shit. for their 10th birthday i had half my group of friends cue up for 2 and a half hours! they always pick dj's who are not up for giving us value for money entertainment. also, that was not a warehouse. there were parking bays inside! it was just a glorified car park with a roof! don't really know what your on about matey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it looks like some mixed reactions here - but the thing is that it is so damn easy to just pick up on the negatives and then a message board becomes more like a witch hunt. TBH no event is ever going to run perfectly, that's the nature of the beast when you have so many different factors to take into account.

There's a real shortage of suitable venues for Hard Dance in London at the moment, or at least of the scale that Frantic need, this in turn means that promoters need to think outside the box and look to dry hire venues and then ship everything in. Invariably, you then have a number of different service providers and as we all know, the more factors you introduce, the more risk of something going wrong.

Overall though I'd say to think of it like this - all the DJs turned up, the majority of people will have had a good time, and you can't please everyone! But fair play to Will, Chloe and all the team for putting on something a little bit different and hope they keep innovating.

Happy new year guys and sorry I couldn't be there last night!

i thought it was a wikid night, the moosic was top notch - loved it!!!

agree with panda about the toilets thing and a larger sound rig would of been good, cant listen to hard dance music unless its nearly at the point of making your ears bleed :-)

Thanks for a good night though. Looking forward to the next one!!!

All i can say about this party Mark EG was fckin' AWESOME!!! Adam and Proteus done well despite the fckin' power cuts. All rest was kind of crap... Toilets, Decor, Sound, Venue, Cloakrooms, No Tap Water, Power Cuts, etc... Looks like everything was left for a last minute...
Have a Happy New Year guys!!!

What a crap new years eve.

Overpriced booze; poorly organised cloakrooms, not enough toilets/ no lights/ music was awfull, powercuts/ freezing/ lights being turned on at 5:15 in main room....

List is endless.

Total rubbish.

Im just glad i bought my ticket in November so only had to pay £18 for this.
