Official Statement – Xstatic no longer at The Venue & John Walton appreciation thread.

Hello you lot! How you all doin.
For reasons completely out of my control (and everyone else’s at The Venue for that matter) It deeply saddens me to have to announce Xstatic will no longer be at The Venue.
That club has been our home for the last 3 years, an I for one will truly miss the place and everyone that worked there. I’m sure you will all agree with me when I say the club was one of the best. Compared to the majority of nightclubs The Venue was consistently clean and extremely well maintained, the door and bar staff were courteous and treated us all with mass respect and in all of the years myself and Xstatic were there, never once were the police called for any reason. You have one person to thank for this…. John Walton – (Club owner, bar manager! Cleaner!, promoter!, administrator! etc ).. John has spent a phenomenal amount of time, money and effort to keeping that club to such a high standard. Xstatic would have never come second best small club this year without John’s help and support.
I have worked in a lot of clubs over the years large and small and hand on heart The Venue has been without doubt the best. When I first told people I was starting a hard dance night there, I got a lot of criticism! ‘You will never fill that club’ or ‘I’ll give him 6 months before he quits’ … How wrong were they!

For the time being Xstatic will be @ Apollo’s (the old Artys) in Ashby De La Zouch Leicestershire and the first event will be on May 17th Xstatic Classix. Full line up will be:

JP & Jukesy
Jimmy Dean b2b JMF
Gio b2b Ash Preston
Lusty b2b Neil M
Steven Richards b2b Brewer
Mike Lennon b2b Jollins

When I have decided on a new home for Xstatic I will Re-book all DJs that should of played on the 3rd May. Promoters.... Now is the time to book the Xstatic tour.... Storm & Polysexual have taken advantage of this situation so use yout brains!
Guys… Please raise your glass to a fantastic man and a true clubber... John Walton

Big love

Jimmy Dean x

Good luck with the next stage of X Static's development Jimmy, and big repsect to John - had the pleasure of playing at the venue many times over the years and have some great memories!

Who could forget mine, P4n1x and Digital Kid's birthday bash last year and the drunken madness that came with it? Or the legend of bigtits the thief as discovered by me, Baz & Buthcer and Johny Fave? Or Little Butcher's turtle impressions......so many fucking hilarious memories, great DJ sets and brilliant new friends made.

As one door closes another one opens - good luck to all of you. You've left a real legacy from the Venue and it's a place I'm sure will talked fondly of for many years to come..

Ajay & all at DiabloTraxx Recordings.

John,

Yourself, all the staff and certainly the venue will truly be missed, but i for one just hope that this is not the end. Thankyou for all that you have done for me through working with you and for you. All the good times will be remembered. I believe if it was'nt for your faith, hope, hard work and determination there would have never been club nights as good as FIXATION or XSTATIC and thankyou for this too. Take good care and all the best for the future in all that you decide to do.

XSTATIC, well i'm sure this party will not be stopping too soon.

As JD has said about John being a wonderful man - Could not agree more! The guy will always be classed as a friend and unlike many other club owners he wasn't greedy and money orientated - Looked after clubbers & promoters no end!

So to John I salute you for what you stood for and done for everyone and as for Xstatic.. It won't be kept down long and it will for sure continue to be the UK's number one brand!

Must agree with all the comments made about John for him the clubbers always came first and as long as they had a good time so did he. Good luck finding a new venue Jimmy sure it shouldn't be a problem with a brand like Xstatic being guaranteed to fill whatever new venue you find.

It is a shame about the club, but looking on the bright side, this is an opportunity for you to get bigger and better. Its good that you have had offers from other clubs, they obviously recognise your success and want to be a part of it, so you're in a good position to pick and choose. The Xstatic faithful will follow wherever you end up, and hopefully will bring in more people who might not have had the chance to go yet!
Every cloud has a silver lining! Im sure you will pick an awesome venue!

I would just like to personally say how thankful i am to know John Walton.Around 6/7 years ago i was completely disillusioned with Djing having already had one crack at the whip and been left "high and dry" due to clob being closed down. John made me resident at his night and believed in me and it served as a true stepping stone for me.

I have been resident for Fixation, Bosh, Deprivation, Hotdog which have all called the venue home, also played many times for other events there. Noone has ever managed to "make it work" like Jimmy Dean has.

I hope wherever Xstatic go that it continues to prosper and that i can be a part of it- and that we see John there as VIP guest at all the events :)
