I've been looking forward to this event for ages especially the hardcore arena but I was so so disappointed. The sound system was too quiet!! Even left the rave early and I never ever leave a rave early!! Just got well pissed off by 4 couldn't do with the low music needed to be alot louder!!

I think it was a case of it being to loud outside, with the locals again.

So they closed the back doors turned the back and side speakers off, and they ran the night with just the middle ones.

That's the last one they will get outside, will have to be inside or not at all now, as the drum & bass arena volume wasn't affected.

Scott Brown's last tune went down well, wonder why? lol

So disappointed myself with the night volume wise, and felt a bit sorry for clearsound guys who set the system up then are told you can't use half the speakers.

Ah well...

Yeah I knew there was residents complaining after the last one, but I thought it had been sorted out with them and Global had been given the all clear.

Alton Towers lost it's fireworks because of two individuals, now will we loose Rollerword as a occasional Rave venue?

Uproar At Global Energy

Will be the headline in the local paper lol (you see what I did there lol)

The layout and site of rollerworld and time is amazin could of picked a more decent layout for this type of event, but of course i agree with everyone else about the sound system- when i spoke to one of the sound engineers and he told me what was happening it really put a downer on the whole night for me- i'd of thought they'd sort it all out before hand. But I thought-yeah even though it was obviously on concrete, the layout of what they put inside the tent, i thought was amazin. The VIP area weren't all that though- when clubland was at rollerworld, they used the eastenders bar as the VIP area which I thought was a more sensible idea- because it was absolutely rammers in the bar last night with all the D&B lot in there.

The techno room was really a life saver for all the ravers wanting to get they're stomp back on, i don't know what i would of done with out it to be honest, i really wanted to stay in the Hardcore arena all night as that was the reason i came, but it just got a bit tedious raving to Hardcore without any bass whatsoever. But all in all if the sound system was sorted in the hardcore tent, it would of been a proper good rave. The majority of the Hardcore ravers didn't let it bother them that much, which shows the attitude and enthusiasm that we have..

And I definately agree with Hardcore Hero on Scott Brown. He handled it really well, decent set for the morning glory and bumped up the volume at the end to make sure everyone left with :) faces. Whizzkid also managed the volume crisis well, and got everyone 'avin it to 6.

It might not have been the best night in the world but it certainly was the worst

Personally i am fucked right off about paying £31.50 (which i cannot currently afford but i thought would be worth it) for a ticket for the MAIN HARDCORE ARENA and only enjoyed stomping in the up and coming room which ironically was the smallest room, had the best atmosphere, best soundsystem and best tunes.

The sound system in the main hardcore arena was fucking atrocious! Why the fuck just presume everything would be ok on the night for sound levels. If there was problems last year why the fuck not organise a sound test the evening before the event was due to go ahead? Would of been commen sense in my opinion to do that at any event with an outdoor arena....

I probably stayed in that room all of 30 mins throughout the evening as it was impossible to enjoy it in there. There was no atmosphere, i could hear my friends talking next to me even when we decided to stand NEXT to the front speakers and by the time Scott Brown was on it was just distorted noise. How can you stomp when you dont even know what fucking tune your stomping to?

Clearly Bad Organisation and laziness.

I dont suppose us ravers that paid £30 (or more for VIP) will get any sort of refund. We paid for a kick ass hardcore lineup with kickass tunes and you didnt deliver. Pissed off aint the word right now - £31.50 is a lot of money for a fucking evening out!

To say the least the music was too fookin quiet in the tent, if global energy was a concert people would be askin for their money back. Whizzkid, Storm n Wotsee carried that arena from start to finish with help from the dancers, if it wasn't for those people i probably wouldn't have bothered spendin more than 10 mins in that tent all night. You could hold a normal conversation in the middle of the floor without havin to raise your voice, then cos of technical faults recon was reduced to playin some of his set with 1 cdj. Imo the mc's did soddin well to keep the crowd goin as i spect they could hear about the same as us (sweet fa)

We drove nearly 3hrs each way, paid £30 each to get in, surely someone should've foreseen the whole 'health n safety issue' n not just crossed their fingers n hoped it'd be ok.

On the other hand the techno room was fookin bangin!! for once we had a decent sound system that did neophyte and panics's basslines justice and scorpio didn't disappoint either, some serious stompin was had in that room, if i wasn't into my techno aswell as my hardcore then i'd be seriously pissed off.

If thats the standard of an average global energy event tho i aint gonna be too bothered if we miss the next one
