MTD Returns This Friday!
MTD Returns as part of Get Down's BBC Radio One 1 Big Weekend Celebrations

Six months have passed since Maidstone said farewell for the winter to its only weekly underground house/techno event. However it is with great pleasure we announce that we shal be returning to the unique & initimate confines of The Source Courtyard from Friday 9th May (and weekly thereafter) as part of Get Down's BBC Radio One '1 Big Weekend' Celebrations.

In an era when dance music can be too easily labelled to a particular genre, MTD offers the full spectrum - from Deep House to Tech House, from Progressive to Techno, no stone is left unturned as we take you on a weekly journey through all things underground in the rather alterantive setting of an outside courtyard!

Therefore it is with huge excitemnt we announce our first line up for the Summer of 2008:

MTD (The 2008 Launch Party)
The Source Bar Courtyard
Friday 9th May 2008

LEWIS RYDER (Hindsight/Bigger Deer Recordings)

Joining MTD Residents:

ANTHONY FROOM
TIM ROBERTS

Read on for more info & a mix from our special guest - Lewis Ryder

From a very early age Lewis has always been creative minded. Winning drawing competitions on his favourite TV shows in the early days to presently launching a record label.
With a love for technology sparking at the age 5, Lewis started learning computers before loosing all his baby teeth. Aged 10 his dad gave him a black & white Mac Powerbook (which he has in his studio still to this day, in working order) that he used for school projects in primary school. Picking up modern technology ways from the very start has enabled him to learn and pick up any new media tools with ease.
Studied Graphic Design: New Media at UCCA, Epsom, England. Lewis spent the 3 years developing production skills and going to super clubs for the first time, instead of concerntrating on the degree.
In June 2007, Nic Fanciulli top 10 charted his ‘Rock Out of Bed’ track next to huge names; Slam & Unkle, “Rock out of bed is fucking amazing!!!!… It’s massive”. Anil Chawla was also rating the tune saying “Loving 'rock out of bed' - have been playing loads lately and it's been going down a treat!” It was this track that got Lewis noticed on the scene by Jaded’s Raymundo Rodriguez, leading onto sets at the legendary after party.
A mix CD that Lewis passed about to a few people at a Club Class event early August 2007 got into the hands of Rodriguez & the nights promoters. The following week Lewis received messages from Club Class saying they really digged the mix and Rodriguez said he was dropping it as a guest mix in his show that Saturday night on Ministry Of Sound Radio. At the end of 2007 Club Class invited Lewis to play at their Xmas party alongside Fanciulli & Osamu M at The Loft in Maidstone, what a way to finish the year!! Osamu then proposed a record deal with Lewis and his debut ‘Rock Out Of Bed EP’ is due out on the 31st March 2008 on Outerspace Records.
Not only is Lewis playing at parties and producing amazing new tracks, but he is also pushing it all to the next level with his ‘Bigger Deer Recordings’ label. First release scheduled for April 2008, this is the start of something very big! With Sam Ball, Anil Chawla, Miniminds, Fanciulli, Jozif, to name a few onboard for remix duties, you can only imagine what’s in store from this label in 2008. The label is about the future of dance music, and speicalises in house & techno.
