Where were MEAT KATIE & BREAKFASTAZ????
Venue was ok, although alot of the staff didn't seem to know where to direct you or know much about what was going on. Bottled water with no caps on? Mainly went to the event to catch the breaks element of the line up. Stanton Warriors and Freestylers didn't dissapoint & tore it up (as per usual!). Switch was great but kinda pissed Meat Katie and Breakfastaz weren't on the bill?? The flyer said otherwise though, feel ripped off that 2 of the main acts i wanted to see were missing? Was there any notice of this given? It was half the reason I travelled down from London to attend this gig in the first place! Was a good night but also a bit dissapointed..............

The third was the VIP room. There was a last minute decision not to have djs there. They thought room wasnt realu suitable for it, so they had a link up with main room. I was supposed to play in there and only found out at 7pm that I wasnt. Was good night though. Completely sold out by about 10.30pm (i think they could have easily fit another 500 or so but prob due to venue safety regulations..at least we al had room to dance). The main room looked amazing. Loved the light set up etc!

You think so? I was really hoping for something a bit more on the lighting / decor front. I felt that the lighting rig in the main room was minimal at best and although it had an interesting centerpiece, it didn't really have level of spectacle that people have come to expect from a stadium event - just look at many of the bands that have appeared at the BC recently. Also thought that the screens had very little feeling gone into them, just generic "rave" footage that seems to be no better than something seen in the 80s. With such a wealth of video artists and VJs in Brighton this was a bit disappointing.

As for room 2, i understand that not much could have been done, due to the low ceilings (that we were promised in the main room!), but the lighting seemed to only focus on the stage area, with the back end of the room being left unlit. There are many ways round a low ceiling and i've seen some amazing lighting in that room before!

Basically, its a bit of a let down that so much was promised and things didn't live up to the hype / PR. At £25 a ticket, you'd kind of expect a few more the promises to come to fruition!

I thought set up in main room was really good. There wasnt the lazers of Heaven but this is Brighton Center and it only had about 10 hours to be transformed from a concert venue to a super club. The light centerpiece was wicked, and different to what I have ever seen before. Not much could be done to the breaks room but room the main room looked wicked in my opinion.

Without sounding too rude, you don't have a clue when it comes to what can be done. 10 hours is more than enough time to rig e venue - it's more than most concerts and tours have. What happened to

The roof of the main arena will be lowered within arms reach to create an intimate clubbing experience.

as for room 2, i've personally been involved in a rig in that room where we put in 25+ projectors, 12 macs, iballs and lasers in a 5 hour rig. It just takes a bit of imagination.

In the end, i'm a bit juxtaposed, well done to the promoters for pulling together such big names, and putting on what was, music wise, a great party, but, at the same time I wish that it could have lived up to the hype - a bit more on the decor side / the lowered roof would have stopped the main room feeling like an overy bright sports hall and the second room feeling like a conference room;

Oh well, I guess i've got too high expectations

Well me and my mates enjoyed decor. I never expected too much from Brighton center. If ya go to an event like this expecting everythin then ya may be disappointed, but if ya go for a great fuckin party, than im sure youll agree a great job was done all round (apart from the no decks in VIP bit grrrr .. lol)

Could have been better, but was still good all the same! Maybe some lasers and better projections etc in the main room and I was looking forward to the 'lowered ceiling' thing, oh well. dont know about the 2nd room as was only in there a few mins an thought although the music was good the decor was crap - looked like a working mans club!

Still, great night all round!

Actualy matey we were all from brighton and had 10 guys working through the night then another 12 working until 30mins before the doors to create that. It was the same design that should have lowered the roof and been centrally placed but Carl did not want to play in the round as he would not have been able to see all the crwd.. So after a rethink we came up with that.. and you are talking shit about 25 projectors in 10 hours unless you are just hanging screens and placing the projectors on the balcony. I had the creme de la creme working for me on that show and you dont even seem to know the difference between a mac and a VL so ......etc etc
