Arsenal in crisis!
Flamini gone for free, Hleb leaving for £3m - absolutely terrible news for Arsenal. Flamini can probably be replaced, as his main asset is his workrate, but that combined with Hleb going, one of our star performers this season, is a huge blow.

Wenger simply has to open up the chequebook this summer and spend big. With two first teamers leaving, and the need for at least three new players even if the squad had stayed together, I would say that £60-70m must be spent to ensure top four status next season.

On the shopping list must be a defensive midfielder, centre back and winger(s). Wenger has to put his ego aside for a moment and realise that some of the current squad aren't up to it. If there is money to spend, he needs to be making moves for players now.

Joking aren't you? Reina is dogshit - he can't even cover his near post and makes nearly as many errors as Robinson.

So the fact he's up for the Golden Gloves for the third consectutive season is just luck is it?

No, it's more down to the fact you have a seriously tight defence and play boring, non-attacking football. Seriously, I'd have Lehmann or Almunia any day.

Then he should realise that Cesc and Gallas are being paid more because, like Kaka, they are more talented than him. I'm sorry but I agree with Arsene and don't believe Flamini, who is essentially just a try hard, is worth more than £55k a week

I agree on the point of talent, especially with regards to Cesc, not so sure about Gallas though as I rate Toure ahead of him and I definitely don't think he's captain material. You can't argue that he was an integral part of the team though and put in as much effort as those players which I think is how he would look at it.

Comparing him to Kaka is a bit unfair as Kaka has not only been there for much longer but he's also proven himself in the team. Flamini hasn't even worn the shirt yet!

The only reason Alumina got a shot was cos Lehman made so many blunders. Before that Wenger wouldn't have trusted him to catch his breath let alone a ball.

What's that based on? How are Green and Howard in there?

Gallas is a proven world class defender, but I agree he's a woeful captain and should be removed from that position.

That's from the Barclays premier league fantasy football site and points awarded are based on a combination of shots saved, clear sheets and goals conceded.

Opta stats - apparently Green has a save/shot ratio of 70%!

That wouldn't surprise me with that leaky sieve like defence of West Ham's.

I'll be interested to see what O-man thinks about it.
I think I would love to be in Arsenal or Liverpool's shoes, a couple of star players (which is happening to us anyway) leaving, some weird American owners and a trophyless season or not.

Take that cunt Ashley Cole, done so much for us but now one of the club's fan's most hated players! why? mostly because of greed, besides his words! That cunt turned down his last offered contract at the club because it was £5,000 short of what he wanted!!! I mean what the fuck!!!!

Didnt he also leave to win things, like he has and will at Chelsea, he wouldn have won fuck all at arsenal

Ashley Cole is cock in general anyway. He was a cock at Arsenal and he's an even bigger cock at Chelsea.

well Arsene's come out today saying Hleb will be here next season and you know what I believe him coz he's a careful man in what he says about players futures, we all knew Flamini would leave just on the basis of the way Wenger spoke about it!

Also, Ade's come out with an official statement that the £80k a week story is bollocks and he went onto talk about loving Arsenal, the fans there, his cat etc etc!

Almunia any day.

you took it a tad far dude. Almunia is the worst keeper in the top four easily.

I think he's under-rated, he don't make that many mistakes!

If the back four in front of him were more solid he might have more of a chance!

Any keeper who has Senderos in front of him will always have to earn his wages!

Plus Gallas at times was very poor this season! Like at Chelsea!

Officaial statement from Adebayor, scoure: www.arsenal.com

"I am very happy here. Reports which suggest I have threatened to quit are rubbish. I love the club and the fans. We have a great set of players here with a fantastic team spirit. We have had a good season but next season we want to go one better by winning a trophy."
