xhere are plenty of other services available which if misused could be deemed 'unethical' but the criticism should be aimed at those who wish to do that, not the company itself!

thats like saying if i sell someone a gun it aint my fault if they kill somebody... lol

Not really as the debate has certainly got the word around, cheers guys! ;)

people are guna read this and think shit, i better not do that cos promoters will be able to tell!

I can easily spot a mix done on Abelton or similar, from Demo's I've been sent by DJ's trying to get a gig. They never get booked, and are in shock that i can spot it. Fookin liberty!!! for example

but if u think this counts as good publicity then good luck!

Yeah i dont agree with that statement either, if someone shoots someone it aint the manufacturers fault!

But if they pay a professional to do the job then claim that they did it, to impress people or get a job as a hitman! Then that just isnt right!

You should offer a service for people who want their mix mastered, sectioned into tracks & burned onto CD's with professional artwork, casing & finish.

That is a service i think most people would be more interested in.

We can do that too Roben. And you are seriously naive if you think people do not want this kind of thing doing. You would also be surprised at those who do ;)

yeh thats a better way of puttin it lewi.

if we were guna be blaming the manufactuers then thats the same as blaming ableton or pioneer. which is obviously bollocks. but blaming the person who carries out the unethical practice is definetely acceptable.

Let me put this another way....

A large amount of tracks on the market are not 100% produced by those who are listed as writing the track. More often than not they use an engineer which costs about £300 per track. The engineer will do nearly 100% of the technical stuff, and often contributes a significant amount of ideas and guidance to the final track. Listen to anyone that uses Funkagenda/Ingo as an engineer, you can hear the trademark sound of the engineer immediately.

Do you slate the engineer for providing that service?? Of course not!!!

prob 99.9% bedroom DJ's who cant mix for shit, are prepared to get involved in "Rent-a-Crowd" policies, sell tickets, DJ for free just to try look cool, suck the promoters cock and then swallow, sweep the floor and then flyer outside for there next event!!!

bein a promoter myslef anyone who sends a demo to me that is soo spot on i automatically have reservations!!! any true promoter will always go see/hear a DJ out live b4 bookin them for a proper promoted event/party, and any promoter in there right mind will then look for a CV and experiences and without any of that the mojority of promoters will stay well away, so all ya doin in the long run in my opinion is tryin to rip of Bedroom DJ's!!!

its a sad state of affairs to see such peeps leachin of DJ's who are tryin to break thru

we are all entitled to our own opinions!!!

Is the "producer" who is named as the tracks creator trying to get work as an engineer though?

Let me put it the best way possible.

A DJ puts together a demo to show off what HE/SHE can do. Not what somebody else can do.

No DJ who is ever going to be any good pays someone to put a mix together for them

Good day to you
