urm thats a little different, i understand where ur coming from but its up to you how forceful you are in the studio and if ur paying an engineer good money u can tell em wtf to do! ur service takes tracks and the order and jobs a goodun,

plus if u look in the credits of a tune the engineer will always be there. i doubt that when one of ur clients hands their demo to a promoter they r guna say 'btw i didnt mix this, pro dj demos did'

Here Here Roben, hows tricks down south....

Hi mate, yeah great thanks! Was better when the sun was out though! You?

Thank funk I can mix my own mixes, otherwise after recording 3 hours of radio shows per week - good enough for airplay/broadcasting - i'd be seriously skinto-mondo! lol.

I have asked a pal of mine to put some edits together for me on Ableton as he knows how to use it better than me although i tell him exactly what i want, listen to it and get him to change it if i dont like it!

Thats different than telling him i want vocal X over track Y and letting him get on with it!

And I am also pleasantly surprised at the number of enquiries we have had.

I'm sure those DJ's will turn out to be great success stories.

We appreciate your feedback on this, and perhaps advertising the service as one which could potentially mislead promoters is wrong.

But as others have said, a good promoter would be able to spot that a mile off, so it really is at a DJ's own risk if they choose to use the CD in that way.

Any "DJ" that pays to have a mix CD done by someone else is clearly a cunt who's ears should be cut off and fed to Graham Norton.

I dont think many promoters actually could tell! Most aint got a clue about music and are in it just for the money!
But hey, thats for another thread!

Nippa said he could tell, but Nippa is a dj who moonlights as a promoter to pay for fancy dress costumes and petrol for his Tank!

We have revised the pricing and sales pitch accordingly.

I dont think thats a particualry fair comment. As someone who has gathered demo's & helped promoters select dj's before it is completely illogical to think that we would sit & listen to the whole demo & spend x amount of time working out if its mixed on vinyl / cd's / laptop...

Its unfair on the promotion & the crowd when they turn up & their completely useless! x

Mixing two tracks together is the simplest thing a DJ can learn.

Mate - do yourself a favour and concentrate on advertising the digital mastering, you won't be insulting DJ's and you'll probably make a few quid.
