Summer Solstice is June 21st (saturday), attending Stonehenge in the middle of the night enables you to witness the sun rising thru the stones at the beginning of the longest sunlight hours day of the year.......

I'll look forward to seeing loads of people walking along the devizes road on my way back on friday night, very special time of year at a very special place, even if it was built to commemorate the dead, they should re-build the wooden structure that was a couple of miles away where the ancient's used to go and party after the sun rising!!

i can't make it now :\ but a couple of friends of mine (who are working there as stewards) gave some good advice...

"it's a weekend solstice and it doesn't clash with glastonbury so it's
going to be busy. the car park opens at 7pm and you definitely want to
be looking at getting there before midnight and preferably a lot
sooner. sunset is at 9.26 and i believe there's a ceremony in the
circle for that. the car parking is actually pretty civilised, it's
the a303 that is madness."

don't forget warm clothes and a torch! and be sure to check the English Heritage link that Queen linked to above for conditions of entry.

have a wicked time!
