Dear Dave - Hen Night
Hellooooo!

My sister and I are trying to plan her hen night. Its on Saturday 19th July. We can't decide where to go. We were thinking of Brighton or London, but as we're not local to either cities we not sure what events will be good.

Its her last night of freedom, and me and a posse of girlies want to make sure she parties in style. We don't want to turn up to a club far away thats empty, or not really prepared for a collection of ladies looking for vibrance and most of all - FUN!

Any suggestions? Know any classy camp stylish (no cheese music though) clubs with great music.

Blimey - no pressure though, eh?

Erm, right. I suppose it depends what sort of thing you want. I was doing alright with a few preliminary ideas like these:

Danny Howells at Ministry:
DANNY HOWELLS DIGS DEEPER INTO RESIDENT ADVISOR

Lovebox Festival After Party at The End:
endclub.com

Or something, but then you said:

And I'm a bit stuck. Time for a look at the Brighton calendar, I think:

Fuck it - go to G.A.Y.

I have no idea then. Would Pacha count as classy camp stylish? (I've never been.)

I may be going to Mooch!n that night, but never having been before, I have no idea about it.

Anyway, I'm sure there's millions of clubs I don't even know exist, so someone must have some better ideas than me?

I was going to suggest Mooch!n (shock, horror).

Pacha's OK as a venue, but the crowd there (in the past) tends to be full have more than its fair share of people that want to be seen there and aren't there for the music.

Edited because a few people do go there for the music.

McDonalds car park.

You'll need some Lambrini, loads of L-plate signs, some gaffa tape (I can supply), big felt-tip markers and a ping-pong ball.

You've never been to Cromer, have you?

I was on a hen night there.

Cromer

I have... The Morrison's Cafe was a life-saver (although, waiting until 8am for the bugger to open kinda sucked).

I wouldn't imagine there is a great deal to actually do in Cromer? Are there any licensed premises at all?!

Hi i'm trying to organise my sisters hen night aswell. For ideas take a look at these:

redsevenleisure.co.uk

hen-night.org

There full of the classic hen night ideas but can give you a rough price of things and give you ideas of what you could do.

when I was there, and this is probably going back almost 10 years now, there was a small, sticky nightclub, the type where you can still smell the vomit from the night before and which plays the latest chart cheese.

Brighton's pretty much got everything you want. London-on-Sea innit.

You just need to know where to look. Ray (wrongn) is one of the local experts. I can help alittle if you know what you're looking for, but Ray's definitely the best (most vocal on DSI these days if nothing else!) person to ask. :)

oh, from what I recall, and please corect me if I'm wrong Ray, Seven Sins is ok - bit busy for my liking, with random tourists, but otherwise not too bad. It's not cutting edge or anything, plays some reasonable chart-type house. Nothing fantastic. Honey itself is ok as a club. Quite big, not badly laid out, 2 rooms (smaller room - it really is a lot smaller than the main room - often has my favourite atmosphere/music).

Digital's good too, obviously depending on night.

Ooooh. Never knew this thread was here. Sorry Raa. Brighton off. Just going local now. Due to fund shortages. Pompey it is then.
