Glad I spotted this thread hopefully just in time.

I'm on my 3rd replacement n95 and I have to say it is the worst phone I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. I used to be a staunch nokia user but this heap of shite has made me reconsider.

It's good points- fantastic camera and video, sound quality on video is amazing, has HSDPA capability (which means up to 1mb internet), can be used as a modem (i'm on my pc connected to the internet via bluetooth on my n95 at the moment).

It's bad points-

-All 4 of my n95's have rebooted or even just switched themselves off at least 3 to 4 times a day.

-If i charge my phone fully overnight, the battery lasts until 2.30pm at the very latest.

-The email facility on it rarely works. the web function only works when it feels like it.

-Signal on it, which I admit is partly down to tmobiles shocking coverage, is very poor.

-The keys are so small and frail it's borderline impossible to create a coherent text message.

-Things just stop working randomly. Like web and walk....one day it worked, one day it didn't. It used to connect to my tomtom to give me traffic updates.....then, it didn't any more!

Compared to my ericsson w850i, which is vastly inferior phone on spec, but gives me no trouble whatosever, it is a painful daily source of frustration. The fact it is my 4th phone tells it's own story....I can guarantee you that before long, owning this phone will force you to launch it out of your car window whilst navigating the m4 having lost signal/satnav connection/bluetooth connection/etc for the umpteenth time that journey.

Avoid like the bubonic plague.

you must never ever charge your phone for more then 1-2 hours, you'll kill the battery.

The N95 is an average phone. there are better handsets out there, and for someone who wants to make calls, send texts and take pics, its not the right option, its just too complicated, and deffo shite for texting, i mean super frustrating

So which phone in your opinion is best for all 3 of these functionalities? Iphone's camera is poo isn't it? What about that new Samsung Tocco is it?

Also if I end my contract with Vodafone to start a new one as I'll get a better deal can I sill keep my old number or does it depend on what network I go onto next? Or shall I just talk to you about this on Friday lol!!?

Right, the tocco is a great phone with a great camera and has a touch screen like the iphone. but the iphone still beats it for total ease of use and application functions.

if you leave vodafone, you can still keep your number, you just have to ask for your PAC number, thats essential.

As for overall best handset, in my own opinion, i actually hate samsung, motorola and LG. Nokia are always great, and the Nokia N95 black is a great phone, but i think itll be too much for what youre looking for.
The Sony C902 is much better, I think you need to go give Rick a visit today and test both that and the iphone out.
But to tell you now, rick started with the C902, i told him about the Iphone, hes a convert now, its the way forward. phones cant replace a decent digi camera as the lens and functions arent as good.
think about everyday use, youre not gonna be snapping away when buying lunch are you now :D
