I, along with a friend based in Bury, are soon to launch a new Saturday night in Bury at one of the better venues. It’s a smallish club with a lot of potential and we are launching in the next few weeks ready for September. We are looking for Warm Up DJs for the club to play Hed Kandi/Galaxy type funky house with a good selection of Classics thrown in. We are not trying to change Bury's musical world overnight. We want to get a regular party going in a decent venue then steer the music more towards where we want it to be.

Bury is a commercial little town and we initially need to fill the club as we are on performance related pay ourselves (paid per person through the door). To this end all djs are expected to contribute to promotion to their network of buddies and will get paid for this the same as we are. We also have links to a bar in Bury where we will have pre-parties and there will be sets available there as well.

This is a great opportunity for young/new DJs to get playing, network and build up a bit of a fan base.

Good luck trying to get something going, I remember years ago trying to get a good night going on there before I moved to London and found it quite hard work. You'll definitely have to go with a slight commercial edge to get people involved or spending money on known dj's to kick start it!

Thanks - Bury has that small town thing of very mainstream night culture eg Chicago Rock and Yates. Its a challenge and we are under no elusions and its going to take time to steer the night from commercial to credible! Will let you know how things develop.

Hi. Yeh, I did a guest DJ gig in Bury once (about 7 years ago) but I cant remember the name of the club. It was prety good tho and I'm sure it had 2 or maybe 3 rooms.

Bury sounds very similar to Swindon, Small town, commercial Yates, Walkabout blah blah edge to it!!

Steve won a Dj Competition that i hosted last year, his reward was a set with us @ Come Up @ Basement,Birmingham
He played a real quality set, Infact we even booked him again when we did a night in Blackpool 3 month later.
