a very similar club to GC1... not over the top posey posey (crasher notts), nights that are aimed at the clubbers and not making money, fuckin loads of lasers (like GC1 agen) and obviously a decent sound system wud put icing on the cake

cheap drinks, good music and a late closing time!
What more could u want

That's easy. Good tunes, good DJs, no RnB, no chavs, no 4am closing times, and decent prices (if you're gonna compete with Godskitchen). Oh and also, I DON'T want GC Birmingham to be the new flagship venue. Crasher belongs in Sheffield, always has, always will!

Oh plus funky lazers, bangin sound system, and SENSIBLE use of the smoke machines! (GC Nottingham springs to mind as how NOT to use smoke machines.) Oh yeah and loads of those sweet Crasher logos and Crasher lion signs hanging from the ceiling dealies :-)

In no particular order and as someone who was at GC back in the late 90s!!

Funktion One sound - the only way!!!
The original GC residents as far as possible - bit of class
2 or 3 GC Classics events in a year
Some styling cues taken from The Republic in its glory days - build in a bit of historical referencing

tiesto b2b with ferry \o/ (because we all want it!!!!!!!)
aly & fila (gorgeous trance at its best!)
sean tyas (this guy is the best dj in the world at the moment!!)
simon patterson (if he carries on the way he's been these last 2 years, he will become one of the very best.. his latest track 'us' is my track of the year!)
thomas bronzswaer
john o'callaghan
matt hardwick (leg end)
solarstone (richie played in manchester before the summer and the club mixes of his new tracks are mint!)
rank 1 (saw benno 2 months ago and he played a gorgeous floaty trance set!)
cosmic gate (both of them, they'd be up for it as they arent happy theyre not that popular in the UK)
agnelli & nelson (played a few times up north this year already and their sets are quality... always end with 'holding onto nothing')

NOT riley and durant
NOT judge jules
NOT any c-list trance producer like crasher have got over the last few years!!!!!!

TRANCE :)
Agreed!

NOT judge jules
Agreed x100000!

It needs to be something that deserves to have the lion emblazoned on it, something that shows pride in the care and attention to detail that's put into it rather than something that's purely about making money. I don't think any of us want it to be a replacement for GC1 (the replacement needs to be in Sheffield and nowhere else), but it needs to be to that kind of standard.

Nice friendly door staff like there was at GC1 would be good (most door staff in birmingham seem to be right dickheads)

And now to wander off into the land of things that are never gonna happen but I wish would:
discounts/special offers for people wearing cyber and/or with the GC lion visible on them
white/red/black parties that have a strict dress code
trance nights where every DJ actually is a TRANCE DJ!!!
hand out free fruit to people when they're leaving
have a people's choice night where through voting we choose the lineup

WTF???

F1, well set up, is totally unbeatable IMO. Having had the pleasure of playing on Heaven's F1 system, set up by Tony Andrews and several other rigs including the DanceStack several times, I can vouch for how damn good it is.

Funktion One is like a performance car - if you let Kwik Fit set up and service your Lamborghini Murcielago, it won't run anything like as well as if it has been prepped by a genuine Lambo dealer. It's a premium product with a premium price and premium setup requirements.

well ive only had the "pleasure" of hearing F1s at Digital Society and creamfields and both times i was left sorely disappointed.

Any outdoor setup is a pain, factor in sh*tty environmental controls that are all too prevalent now and you'll never get the best out of it.

I actually played on a huge Funktion One system this weekend at the Bulldog Bash and it was immense, but then again I can't see a council noise pollution geek wanting to tell a bunch of Hells Angels to turn it down hahaha!!!

Thats pretty much what I've just said on MSN but without the interesting car analogy to go with it :P

P.S. Myras automatically dislikes anything thats considered to be the leader in its field..
