LaserTronics - The Interview. (By MC D.H.D)
Laser Tronics- The journey so far. .

lasertronics

Laser Tronics is an unprecedented force in today’s dance music scene.

We all know that when we go out, that after a few beers and glasses of wine, that things can become some what 'blurred' and we take the 'smaller things a little for granted on a night out!

Laser Tronics since gracing the scene late last year back in November, have always continually brought, and staged just that something a little bit extra when it comes to laser shows. . .

Laser Tronics have a vast history of performing for up to two thousand capacity events in Japan back in the day. . .
Also Laser Tronics puts together and like minded builds allot of their own lasers that you see when at the events!

To master this off, Laser Tronics also boasts a history of dance, raving from a younger age from the eighties.

I proudly present to you today an EXCLUSIVE one off interview with LASER TRONICS:

Laser Tronics, you have witnessed like us all, many changes - even of recently, changes within the scene. What is your view on the music as a whole? I direct this question to the hardcore scene as also the Hard Dance scene, which is your preferred music.

'To be honest I was never a total fan of hardcore music, but the first five or six events booking which I did, were hardcore, really opened my eyes to hardcore the new sound.

Hard Dance has always been my chosen music.
Within the last eighteen months, allot of new stuff has been coming out, and it's been changing.
I would say that the market is a little confused as to what direction it is going in.
However, I don’t care who you are, or what kind of music you like- everybody knows a GOOD tune!!!!'

Your time in Japan must have been a memorable part of your life! Can you give us a brief insight into, staging a laser show for that amount of people!?- What was it like!?

‘The Japanese scene is absolutely AMAZING! - Everybody gets dressed up for the night; sometimes it's like the academy awards- the way they dress!!!
Japanese people who do rave, are very much into the music and whole scene, and a PLEASURE to rave with.'

You have staged several shows now for Ballistic Beats and Vi Va La Hardcore; these two prestigious events push the breaking of up and coming talent. Aiming this again at also the Hard Dance scene - from what you know, would you say that enough is being done for up and coming artists to play out and get recognised?

‘I think every artist; dj and MC struggle a little bit and have to do their apprenticeship. In other respects- are they doing enough for themselves... It's all war, you get your self in the battle field- get your self about you'll be strong and have a good chance of making it'

You always seem to bring a good vibe along with a first class laser show! How do you achieve this with consistently?

‘Basically ALLOT of hard work.
I spend allot of hours checking out equipment, experimenting on a computer- you know, all the different, shapes and logo's etc.

And then carrying equipment from house to club- and obviously back again! But for the reward looking back, at what I am creating at that moment- with a good DJ playing a REALLY good tune, hundreds of people jumping up and down smiling I have done my job.'

From the Hardcore scene, you have recently returned to your roots of Hard Dance. What is the event that you are currently involved in, and how’s that going for you?

'Yes! I am currently working with an event primarily based in Southend called Concept.
I have successfully worked Concept four times now, and on all occasions it been the perfect partnership as well as party.

Dan and Tanya from Concept, have really understood what the people want from a Hard Dance event, and every time achieved this!

Dan and Tanya have been excellent in promoting this event- their vision is second to none. They always create a GOOD atmosphere and they always book really good dj's.
And most of all they are really good people who are honest- and that’s what I like.'

Nice one! - So what would you say has been the highlight of your carrier has been? - There must be loads due to your time in the land of the rising sun too! ;)

‘Obviously- five years in Japan was a magical time. The highlight for me is every time that I stage a show! You know-? Seeing the people have a good time and be happy is my objective achieved.'

From your time on the scene you must have met, if not worked with a few people, do you have any that are most memorable to you!?

'In Japan- I worked with Paul Oakenfeild, that is a huge star known all over the world.
My hero's list would be amongst: Vinyl Vera, I think that she's AWSOME as a dj and really enjoys what she plays, and really becomes part of the crowed.
Another long time hero would be Billy Bunter. He has always staged supreme parties, and I will be proudly working with him at the last Tasty at Mass'

On that note- Who would you say- if you don’t mind me asking your favourite Dj is. . . .?- Come on give us ago... wink wink

'Without a doubt in the world- because of not just what she plays, also the WAY she plays, and the way he an amazing gift- almost like intuition, like reading the crowed and she projects an amazing aurora of happiness! - The one and only Cally Cage.

I would also like add that when working with Concept back in July- just last month believe it or not! Cally Cage was the guest Dj that night! She played an excellent set and I was PROUD to be on the same flyer as her.'

Where do you see Laser Tronics say two to four years time from now? I.e. what shape and direction are you going to be heading in?

'Aiming for Mars! If I hit the London eye I'll be more than satisfied!- As long as I keep producing something that is better than I produced before- then it's all good I guess- the sky's the limit - working on today’s project, but always keeping an eye on the future...'

Laser Tronics has made a definite impact on the London scene- would you ever go back to Japan and host another laser show?

‘Yes. Maybe not live there again, but just the U.K scene is only a small part of the world. Any one that has done events internationally will know what I mean about running events with different people in different cultures- it's so different.'

What advice can you offer to any inspiring person that would be saying, starting their way in the industry today?

‘Yes, just to work hard, promote hard, and do the very best that you can- and get your self out there. If you’re good enough, it is possible to complete the course.
Unfortunately allot of people sit back and expect things to come to them. To phrase this puppy isn't going down without a fight-'

I have to ask! (Hoping it’s not too personal...) What are you doing in your waking world today!?- I.e. what you’re you passed times etc!

‘I’m currently in a relationship, with two of the most beautiful girls in the world!!!! Their new kittens! - Cally and Katy!!!;)' Cally loves Hard Dance and is always sleeping on the twelve tens!;) Katy because she is a little Angel and is totally wiked! I'm also learning to mix currently on vinyl, and I'm looking forward to checking out this CDJ malarkey too, in the very near future...' ;)

So far you have given us a very good look at Laser Tronics as a whole- do you have any funny humorous stories from your time on the scene?... Don’t be shy now... ;)

' Yeah there was one time I was listening to a mix of a cd, whilst controlling the lasers and the real dj playing was completely different to the music in the head phones. . . So technically the music was 'out' from what was really being played!!!!!! lol'

Laser Tronics sadly it's that time, that I must summarise and draw upon saying. What is your final thought, and words of wisdom for the people out there of rave vill?

' Wicked!- You go out there, you enjoy, you find the people to share it with- and you have the BEST time that you can Basically enjoy the night- enjoy the scene.'

Laser Tronics, may I thank you for your words and more importantly your time. It has been AMAZING. We look forward to seeing you staging many more successful laser shows throughout London- if not the world.
