DSI Fishing Society - FUNKY-TOAST Carp Fishing Pics - Part2
well hello once again peeps

just thought i would update ya with some more of my pics, i have spent quiet a few sessions on Gunton Hall a Holiday Camp fioshing there Boating Lake and also done a session at Alberby Pits b4 it closes to be netted and updated, the good thing is all the Carp at Alberby will be put into one lake so they then have a Pukka specimen lake for us Carpers

i dont know wot it is about me when i go fishing BUT somehow starnge things happen to me... last month it was a Tornado in Wortwell and this month it was some Albanians causing me hassle more to follow with pics in a minute

Gunton Hall... up until the start of last month i never realised this place was on my doorstep, thanks to a bloke at work who put me onto it, and thanks to my mate who works at the Holiday Camp for gettin me on there!!! its a water with a very small stockin of Original Carp and there are stories of a 20lb'er so i thiought i would do a few sessions to try my luck, been quiet lucky to have banked quiet a few Carp all between the 11lb and 18lb Mark, due to the lake being soo close to my house i started a Bait Campaign on it really did pay of, i baited 3 spot with mixed sizes of Trout Pellet none of the expensive Pre-packed stuff just the cheap stuff from my local pet shop along with a hand ful of Mainlines New Cell flavoured Bait with great results on such a hard small stocked water... not as big or do they have the history of the Waveney Valley Fish but still i think ya will enjoy.... check these lil bad boys out...

a few of the pics do not do justice to the fish as i was fishin on my own and had to snapp them in in the landing net on my rather large XXXL un-hooking mat...

17lb Common

Alberby Pits Over Night Session
only managed to bank 2 fish one in rain hence no picture and one lost at the net

14lb 3oz Common

the above Fish was caught after the following happened and the cintinuation from the above comment, atleast i can laugh lookin back at it now, funny things always happen to me when fishing...

rite hooo here goes...
on sat 6th Sept i decided to go for a fish, i drive down to Burgh Cstle fishery only to find all 10 swims were taken with 30 yes 30 lines in the water so i decided to drive to Waveney Valley which was also fully booked, so from there i tried Camelot lake were the gate was closed, i was seriously thinking of goin home, but thought fuck it i will try Alderby Pits as hadnt fished it since i was about 16 years old, on arriving to the lakes i wasnt to confident of gettin a swim BUT to my surprise i managed to find the Carp Lake with no-one fishing GREAT i thought...

i found a awesome swim were the wind was blowing into and loads of fish holding up in that corner of the lake so i set up the Bivvy and loaded the new Bait Boat and picked 2 wicked swims!!! the lakes gates closey at 7 so i thought i was in with a great chance of baggin a few only to have 2 Albanians pull up in the above car, they decided to fish the lake i was on.

at about 7 the heavens opened and these chaps didnt even have a brolly or bivvy and were float fishing (i had susspisions they were only there to catch fish to eat!!!) one of the chaps then decided it would be a good idea to drive there car down the hill towards there swim, this is were it really started to go Pete Tong!!!

the idiots managed to beach there car and thought it would be great to wheel spin for 2 ours tryin to get it out, all this aftre i politely told them to stop as they would need a tractor to get it out, these idiots managed to completely fuck up the fishing on 3 of the lake due to the vibrations and silly amount of noise hey caused by wheel spinninig and guess wot NO fish were caught that night!!! havin a short fuse i decided some how to keep my mouth shut!!! and not throw the lil fuckers in the lake!!!

in the morning they had approx 8 different carp anglers come along and have a go at them, the fishery owner turned up and called the mate who brought teh John Deer to the rescue, quiet funny lookin back at the time BUT i was pissed they had ruined my fishing along with all the other chaps who were Carp angling on other lakes!!!

once they had been pulled out and left luck for me i see fish back in my swim and managed to get a screaming runn and had a nice 10lb plus Carp on only to loose it at the net, i was thinking its time to give up and go home but persivered!!! shortly after loosing the fish the same rod was back off and in the rain i managed to bank a 12lb Common (no pic as it was pisssing down and i was soaked) so i re-baited and drive the Biat Boat out once again and bout a hour later had another screaming riun and banke a loveley Common @ 14lb 3oz it just shows that sometime it really does pay to stick at it

i would like to thank the new owners at Alderby for how they handled this knightmare and they gave me some complimentary tickets to come back after i would not take a re-fund form them as it was not there Fault in the long run

i really dont knwo wot it is when i go fishing but something weird always seems to happen lol

i am now pre-baiting Burgh Castle ready for next week and a 72hor session wer i will try bank my 1st 20lb'er, watch out as Funky Toast is comin to get ya on the 17th/18th/19th Sept

never a dull moment in my fishin travels

apparently when they stunned Gunton they took out over 30 Pike but they recon there is still a few big monsters in there, i pretty sure that there is a 20lb Carpo in there somewhere as i have landed Carp up to 18lb 2oz, only problem is its a leisure pass plus monthly fee to fish it
