1000s are industry standards, built like tanks, last for ever, feel great and are the best of the best.
800s are ok, and still very good - but it depends how much u wanna spend and what u want for ya money.

400s are ok - very nice too from what i have heard- built in effects unit and a pretty responsive platter.
In my opinion, all pioneer stuff is good, it kust depends on u as ure the one who will be using them.

If u diont have an effects unit or effects on ya mixer - the 400s are good - but i think the 800s and 1000s are more professional.
Id love a 400 personally :)

I do to. I have only used cdjs for about 3 years now. Iwas (and still am) a vinyl junkie - but wanteds to move to cdjs. My advice will be the 800mk2s - they are pretty solid and loads better than the mk1.

hi mate,

there's several reviews of all the above mentioned models on my website - equipment-dj.com - the 400, 800 and 1000. if you could leave your thoughts on there on any other model of equipment you own after you've finished that'd be grand :)

personally, i've got an 800 and a 100. the 800 mk2 is quality, 100 is quite old now. if you plump for an 800 don't be tempted by the mk1 (if you're looking 2nd hand) as it's platter is shit, amongst other things (not as responsive). i believe the mk2 has the same platter as the 1000 mk3.

cheers,
Paul, EQDJ.
