A Big Thank You to all of You!
Gatecrasher would like to say a big thank you to all of you, who came down to Gatecrasher’s 15th Birthday at the Sheffield Carling Academy and made it a spectacular night. The atmosphere in there was unbelievable and one which will stay with us for a long time and although it was not in our beloved Gatecrasher One, there was something about being back in Sheffield city centre which made this event extra special for us.

However with this being the first Gatecrasher event which we have hosted at the Carling Academy there are a couple of issues which we would like to address;

First up ticket collections, although for the majority of persons collecting tickets at this event this wasn’t an issue, we do understand that there were still some people who had a long queuing time to get into the venue. We will be relooking the logistical side of getting 2500 people in as quickly as possible for the next event and hopefully make entering the venue as quick and painless as possible for everyone.

We also understand that Gatecrasher is as famous for its lasers as well as the music but unfortunately due to height restrictions when operating lasers it does take a special licence to be granted before lasers can be used in this venue. We will be looking into getting this licence granted for the next event however and are currently working on it as we speak.

See you at the next event:

Gatecrasher Red & Black is Back!

Credit where credit is due. Gatecrasher have ignored it's loyal fans in the past. We asked the questions in the forums and Crasher have answered them. It's too easy to be cynical and focus on the bad points. Crasher have read and answered our questions and concerns.

Thank you Gatecrasher, I for one Appreciate it. Here's hoping the license is granted for the lasers.

Im glad that Gatecrasher have cleared up why there were no lasers but dont you think that if your not going to get a liecense for them for the Carling Academy then surely this is not a venue Gatecrasher should be holdings its events at.

Thank you listening Janine.

I offer my apologies for a slightly overdramatic headline to my thread, I was a little p*ssed off at the time of writing (1am) given the significance of the event and for that I apologise. I tried to be constructive since with my comments in there. I've also just edited the thread title with this in mind. Hopefully no lasting bad feelings on either side.

I thought something similar.

I'm presuming you don't intend to audience scan? Thats a real shame although I understand the difficulties in doing so safely. I don't know if you hire your laser shows in, but I am a part of a UK laser community that includes many professional companies and although I don't have anyone specific in mind, I'd be pleased to put some anonymous feelers out for you to help find a company who's an ILDA member and that does audience scanning. Many of us have fond memories of dancing in the beams in GC1 and at the White Party and its a real shame that we don't currently have that pleasure.

i think thats fair enough whats been said, it was the first event held there, and any quarms i had with the night i put down to this!

They had saturday to prepare after noize etc the night before

they know what wasnt successful and it can be addressed hopefully for the next event

As for a thank you on the night, many clubs let people talk a load of rubbish on the mikes, so not bothered about that!

See you at red and blk :-)

Fair play.

i hate posting anything negative about my beloved Gatecrasher but was proper dissapointed by the absence of the lazers at the carling academy. however, nice one for bothering to read the comments and posting a reply. had hoped there was a reason for it and not just that the lazers were forgotten about.

Red and black 1, 2 and 3 were some of the best nights ive ever had, so if they sought the licences and lazers out for october, this red and black could def be the night of the year!! :-)

come on plate smasher, show em how its done!!

Yeah we do hire lasers in when the event isn't in one of our own venues.

Tickets for red and black should be in shops by next week - I'll leave it unitl the end of next week to go and get them though

At least you are listening, and that I am grateful, but please get crasher 1 built quickly Carling acadamey is still a shoddy place for a massive promoter/club as Crasher, or go back to Magana. Please please.

:o you think we got it bad on saturday you should read the wall on the facebook group for the new gatecrasher in birmingham!! People were being turned away because they was too casual in a shirt, jeans & shoes!!! Also heard that they way over sold tickets!

I for one after reading those comments wont be in a uhrry to travel all the way to Birmingham to get refused entry cause you aint smart enough in a Shirt, jeans & shoes...Now that is disgusting by GC.

magna??? no way!!! carling is loads better than magna. magna just felt like an big boring space. i used to love one off big events. crasher at the NEC used 2 be awesome!! and N/ice wasnt bad. byt magna didnt work for me. and as a regular event carling is loads better. much better chance of getting an atmosphere in there, and somwhere to sit, somewhere to chat and room 2 dance as well as it still been busy enough down at the front u actually felt like you were at a crasher event.

magna should be used for tidy events. they always worked there, but crasher needs 2 be in a club not a giant hall esp monthly.
