Immigrants take 1.4m new jobs
IMMIGRANTS have filled nearly all the new jobs created in Britain over the past seven years, a report claims today.
Around 1.34million jobs have been created here since 2001, according to think-tank Migrationwatch.

But over the same period the number of non-UK born workers has grown by 1.4million — while the number of UK-born workers has fallen by 62,000.

Full Article

Can someone like DaveNewt or someone else that has said on a number of occasions that immigrants workers do no harm this country defend this please?

And before you use that it's in The Sun, it was in several other papers and on the news, but this is the only link I can find.

the control of immigrants has been at best chaotic, at worst..criminal. how come other countries run reasonably efficient border controls?

That only shows a correlation, and not causation. It is a common error in the press.

Many many studies are actually designed to test a correlation, but are suggestive of “reasons” for the correlation. People learn of a study showing that “girls who watch soap operas are more likely to have eating disorders” — a correlation between soap opera watching and eating disorders — but then people incorrectly conclude that watching soap operas gives girls eating disorders.

we are but a small island, with virtually no manufacturing...living space and jobs are finite. we need controls, Australia for all its size controls who it admits so is it unreasonable to filter who we admit to this small island?

not always the case tho, some jobs have preference to ethnic minorities because they want to encourage more of them into that career

Evidence or hearsay?

I work with immigrants and asylum seekers and I could tell you some stories that would surprise you as to quite how shit it is for a lot of them. If they are better at the job then what the fuck is the problem we have a minimum wage and most of these jobs are minimum wage anyway that they take so it's not driving wages down.

It is a fact. It is however a separate issue as it is to do with circumventing minimum wage laws. Something I feel should be abolished in principle as state interference in economy produces deadweight loss. Being an avid fan of Naomi 'Klien' muffdee I would have thought you would have had something a little more enlightened to say on the matter.

Hearsay actually but from lecturers and profesionals employed in the field perhaps I could provide you with evidence at a later date why are you so confrontational. I think the subject needs to be debated at length without propaganda and bullshit from both sides. When the Times, Independent and other good newspapers or multi party think tanks and not biased politically motivated studies looks at this far more conclusively I will be able to make a proper judgement.
