Hey Stu, nice one for still using vinyl, I take my hat off to ya, I do love the feel of vinyl however its sooo much more expensive than buying tunes from download sites nowadays. And recently a few places I've been to don't even have vinyl decks anymore and if they do, they are in crap condition..arrgh

lowestoft and surrounding areas are realy being affected by this farkin credit crunch

Im afraid to say everyone is affected by the credit crunch at the mo. You're definitely doing the right thing by keeping the interest in the brand 'alive' and running the free entry to the parties. All good Karma, what goes around comes around (if you believe in that old nonsense of course!). Good luck with everything...

cheers me ole mucka, its certainly a funny ole industry to be in at the moment, mind you we been here and seen this bout 4-5 years aggo, it will sort itself out it usualy does BUT cant see it happening for a few months poss even a year, only time will tell

i think the educated house scene is suffering more than most due to the fact that the elder generation who support these night are worried and tired up in mortages, soo many peeps only afford one night a month and most now make this a BIG night in the city or London or thats wot we finding up this way that and the fact the the only night that are pulling the punters at the moment are aimed at the younger generation and usually involve Harcore, DnB or Hard Dance, we just gotta wait for these clubbers to mature a bit in there tastes lol

I think what you are experiencing is happening everywhere. I live in Hertfordshire and its exactly the same.

The older crowd are worried about the credit crunch so just go out every now and again and its usually to London or the like. Most venues / clubs unless they are small or have some £1 a drink offer don't get the people through the door....... We've also got lots of places that cater for the hard dance faithful or even the R'n'B crowd, but not many places to go locally for some good quality house music, with plenty of dancing, fun with no attitude ;-)

the hardest bit with being a promoter/Dj is... seeing the youngsters being force fed RnB & Comercial Crap in some nice venues and the youngster loving it as the know no better, like ya say there are a distinct lack of venues now that are prepared to step away from the chav scene and start educating these new clubbers of the future

we must have lsot 7-10 pubs/clubs in last year around here and the few that are left have ass hole doorsstaff who think they are a law to them selves and run the town this also then stems trouble on a regular basis

one thing i like to pride love-bug on is the FACT we have been running over 4 years without an voilent incident which proves peeps go for the music and party vibe, unlike the chav infested venues playin RnB which have fights evey night they open

feel good house music is wot its all about!!!

It certainly is!

Sounds like the problem you have is not just limited to your area, we've got the same problem too!!

We can only but try our best and make sure that the nights we do attend (and/or play at) are a pleasure for everyone and that's the only way to get the message across to people!

Catcha soon - I'm off home now........

Hi Nonny and your so right about the cost of Vinyl! Allways means I really have to pick and choose what to spend my money on. Would love to know what you think of the mix aswell mate when your've had a listern I dont get much feedback so never know if anyone is enjoying them also constructive critism is greatfully recieved if needed :O) But its all thanks to Toast that I'm still playing as if he hadnt started sorting me out a few sets I was just about to give up, fed up of hard working trying to get my face in to the scene and getting nowhere.

plus with CD Downloads you never have to worry bout being out of stock, the time it takes to deliver and when the delivery turns up there is 99.9% of the time the main tune you wanted missing from delivery

will have to set a night and get yaself round for a lil tester on them...

shucks man ya making me blush!!! the scene dont get any easier to break thru especially with the CD revolution, for me if ya cant do it on Vinyl ya not a proper DJ.. bold i know but every DJ should be able to use Vinyl in my opinion, its the bench mark to then push on from, Stu's style is very much a sound i love and to be fair dont get to play enuff off, will be good gettin ya over for warm things up on the 25th IF extension goes ahead plus i pencilled ya in for a set on the Air Show Friday if ya can make it....?

My fingers are crossed on the extension going through and go over that pencil with permenant marker, cause I'm there baby lol

I have played CD's before but never tried the flat beds, I'm scared if I like them 10years of Vinyl will become a door stop lol I'm more then up for a night round yours, few beers ect I'm hopefully starting a new job next week so when things have calmed were get it sorted.

For the LOVE of House :O)
