Simon Patterson interview + download ahead of Godskitchen next Saturday
Simon Patterson the DJ.... is one of the hottest properties in dance music right now. His creative offerings as a producer have captured audiences, bringing them willing with him along his musical adventure. From techy moods to edgey riffs, spin tingling melodies to driving basslines, Simon’s studio offspring’s of the past 12 months have raised his profile to see him become a much in-demand DJ, producer and remixer.

However, it's when he’s behind the decks that the sound of Simon comes alive. With a style described as cutting edge, dark, driving, pulsating, Simon's technical ability is a finely tuned art that fuses trance with elements of techno and electronica. If you're stood on a dance floor when Patterson's behind the CDJ's you know who's in control, and the only thing you're likely to do is to dance and dance hard.

First off, bit of an ice breaker, what’s the funniest thing you have seen this week?
Ronaldo for 80 million

Cool, now that’s out of the way, what have you been upto recently?
Just finishing new tracks off and LOTS of travelling! So many happening parties worldwide right now!

Everything you touch production wise turns to gold, what’s your secret?
Pure hard work and spending time on the tracks. I think making sure the track is as polished as poss is really the key.

You’re held in high regard by the top dogs now, do you feel pressure to live up to expectations or does it not bother you at all?
I feel pressure maintaining the buzz or high regard so to speak but that spurs me on to be as successful as possible. Its great that people are liking the stuff though, really grateful.

You recently played on the ASOT400 tour, how was it? Which was your favourite night? (not that we are biased at all haha)
Actually Gods was. Not only was the atmosphere better but it had been a long time since i had played that main room and i forgot how class it is in there. A packed Gods is the best venue for me.

You do a lot of touring with Sean Tyas and John Askew, I imagine there must be a lot of partying going on when you three get together, care to share any funny stories with us from on tour?
Loads of funny stories but the main one would be a recent trip to OZ. Askew managed to drink 2 full mini bars. It was 9am in the morning and all the DJs were waiting downstairs for John to arrive. 20mins and no show, the hotel manager who was a girl had to go to johns room to wake up. On her arrival he was naked and lying on top of the bed. The only way to get him up for to fill a large ice bucket with water and pour it over him. He was up like a shot! Where Askew is concerned there is always humour!

What are you hating and what are you rating right now?
A bit of both, i have lots of new tracks that i rushed and arent quite cutting it. The potential is there but just not 100% yet!

Who’s your all time hero?
Sean Tyas

If you had a time machine, where would you go?
The future

If you could spend a day in the life of anyone, who would it be?
Sean Tyas

Do you have a recurring dream?
Yea i have a dream that i can fly all the time. I wake up so pissed off.

Finally, do you have a message for the Godskitchen faithful ahead of June 27th?
2nd time in as many months, just cant wait to return!
