They really need to sort out the cue problem when using timecode CDs on CDJs. The delay on them is a bit of pain!

lower the latency on soundcard
stick quantize mode on
set key lock to fast cpu and scratch mode

use the RST button on the timecode scratch panel . resets the signal and solves loads of probs/

make sure cdj master tempo is off

what exactly does this do if its lower or higher - what have u got yours set to ? mines in the 60's - is it low enough, used to be 80+ ms

stick quantize mode on
set key lock to fast cpu and scratch mode

where do i find the above & what do they do ?

change latency settings , lower the quicker the software responds to hand movements . play around to see how low your pc will go and test with running lots of loops and fx as this can effect sound quality and slow trktor down. find a happy medium.

quantize mode , makes sure everything is in time , loops ect . i found it effects cue for some reason.

i always have key lock on , find by having it set like this helps against popping and clicking of audio and helps with cdj cue.

sounds good but i didnt notice any differences when i played around with it so kept it at the lower 60s rather than 80s initially - what is your happy medium ?

coolio, will switch it on by clicking on it soon, thx 4 that !

does they key lock only apply if u use the cdj deck, ie, cdj 1000 mk3 for example with the time coded cds to cue ? have not touched mine as dont understand what to click and for what, ie. ECO, HiQ, scratch , etc...

btw, the diagrams/screen shots above makes so much sense with your explaination above, superb !

Interesting. Latency is down to 1.0 ms so at lowest value but will try the other points. Since getting Traktor my poor CDJs get very little use . :-(

latency might be too low and your cpu struggling so you get audio that has pops and clicks in . mess about with settings so you find a happy medium

Seems ok, normally I have other things running in the back ground. The only slight lock I have had was when I was encoding some DVDs last night with Handbrake, otherwise seems ok. I do sometime have some probs when it first switches on, no midi control or sound. Have you ever had that happen before?

the key lock in traktor is the same as the master tempo/key lock on a cdj . what it does is changes the tempo of a track without changing the key so you do not get chip munk vocals when a track is speeded up.

you cannot have the master tempo button on a cdj when using timecode

the timecode will not work correctly as the tone will not be able to change key telling the software to speed up or down

i found that turning wifi off helps with traktor , the wifi adaptor drivers effect the software for some reason and you get dropouts.

this is not so with all wifi but seems to happen with quite a few people .

a good thing to do with dj software is to set up a new user on your laptop and have it optimized for dj use. so just traktor running on that profile with nothing in the background that may effect the performance

used the snipping tool that is included free with windows vista/7
then just upload pics to share, easy way of explaining problems and solutions

the above is just applicable for PCs right and MACs should be ok i take it ?
