LONDON PROMOTION DHF GET TO GRIPS WITH ITALIAN HARD TRANCE LEGEND SA.VEE.OH AHEAD OF HIS UK EXCLUSIVE ON DECEMBER 2ND 2011!!!
Sa.Vee.Oh, The Italian Stallion Of The Hard Trance Scene!

He has been conquering dancefloors as a DJ since 93 and began smashing the production world with his numerous releases on the almighty Mazeman imprint from around 1999 onwards .?Having played in all corners of the globe at huge events such as Misteryland (NL), Global Nation (IT), Qdance (NL), Ground Zero (NL), Street Parade (CH) and Pharmacy (AU) to name but a few, Sa.Vee.Oh is truly one remarkable talent.

We took took 5 mins out of his busy schedule to talk to the man behind some of the best Italian hard trance this world has seen! Ladies and gentleman, we give you... Sa.Vee.Oh!

1. What inspired the SA.VEE.OH alias? Please give us a run down of your other DJ and production projects?

The name Sa.Vee.Oh is short for my surname Savietto, here in the south of Italy they call me Savio, I needed an alias for my harder productions and I thought that the name Sa.Vee.Oh was the right one, which people abroad could read the same as it is pronounced: Savio in Italian.

2. Were you ever a clubber or a raver? When did you first fall in love with dance music?

I have been a super clubber! I started going out when I was 16. I always loved music since I was a kid and at five I used to wonder around the house with a portable vinyl player, it was my best friend

3. Describe your music in three words.

.... Energy, Melody and Sa.Vee.Oh!

4. Who or what has influenced the SA.VEE.OH sound the most?

I haven’t had particular influences in my music, it was a time when Hard Trance was slightly changing and at the same time hardstyle was about to be born, the market back then requiring a harder sound so I decided to interpret it my own way without distancing myself to much from the original sound of my label MAZEMAN and Sa.Vee.Oh was the result. I was always a massive fan of Dumonde and maybe I took something from them.

5. How has your sound changed and evolved over the years?

To start with I was producing exclusively trance and hard trance, but in the last few years I decided to create Sa.Vee.Oh as an alias because I had and felt the necessity to create harder tracks and other ones more trancy and dance with the name Max Savietto, so I would say my sound evolved distinctively in 2 different music styles.

6. You’ve played at some of the planet’s biggest hard dance parties, including Misteryland and Q-Dance (the Netherlands) and Pharmacy (Australia). What’s been your favourite party so far? And is there anywhere you still haven’t played yet that you’ve got your sites set on?

One of the parties which I will never forget is Mysteryland…really unique! There isn’t a party in particular where I would like to play, but what I would love more and more these days is to play in clubs/parties where the perfect magic reigns between my music and the crowd there.

7. You’ve just done an epic remix of the Public Domain Soundsystem’s ‘Automatic Audio Overload’, which is topping hard dance charts all over the place. What other new productions do you have in the pipelines?

At the moment I am working with Alex Kidd on some new tracks, I have a few remixes to finish for my friend Luca Antolini and after that for Thilo & Evanti and if I have some time left…there will surely be a new solo track coming out, at the beginning of 2012.

8. You’ve been signed to the impressive Italian Connection DJ agency, does this mean we can hope to see a lot more of you in the UK from now on?

The Italian Connection is the new reality in the world of booking agencies, I know well the guys who work there and I am sure that we will see each other more than once in the UK from now on.

9. You’ve been producing since 1999 and in that time technology has greatly changed the way music is made. What hardware and software do you use in the studio these days? Do you have a favourite toy at the moment?

With the beginning of virtual instruments loaded on computers it has become so much easier for any producer to create music anywhere without the necessity to sit in a proper professional recording studio, now you can travel the world with virtually everything you need to produce in your laptop. However I still have and use bits of external hardware in my studio and have various synths such as virus A, virus C, Waldorf Micro Q, Novation supernova II, JP8000 and more. Lately I love Zebra2 really amazing for producers who love trance and hard trance.

10. A lot of hippies are saying that the world is going to end in 2012 – next year! If this is indeed the case, what are the main things you would try and do before this happens?

Photobucket

I don’t particularly believe in this but you really want to ask me I will let my imagination work a little and I would like to go on holiday for a whole year to explore the planet.

11. The world starts to end in 2012, and you get offered the chance to escape to another galaxy with your friends and families – but are only allowed to take five tracks each with you. What would they be?

1) Loop Hole I am sure aliens will love this tune!!

2) A record from the nineties to remind me my first experiences as a dj please do not ask me which one as I have tons of them and would prefer to select it without rushing my choice haha!

3) Feel This Love my latest production as Max Savietto

4) Sultan of Swing of Dire Straits I has been my first cd and my alarm clock for at least six months

5) An Italian track probably by Zucchero called Sugar Fornaciari

12. What are your current top 10 tracks to get the party started?

I constantly change my top ten charts, it really depends on my mood and the crowd I am playing to.

13. How’s the hard dance scene in Italy at the moment? If I came over for a holiday, which parties should I check out?

The Hard Dance scene/movement is not very big here in Italy, there are only a few clubs where you can find Hard Style and Hardcore but most of them are catering more dance and Electro House music these days, but if it happened that you were here in Italy on holiday you should definitely go to a Hard Core party at Club NUMBER ONE in Brescia or Cocorico’ the true Italian venue for Techno music.

14. You’re playing an exclusive set at the epic DHF Third Birthday party at JAMM in London on Friday 2nd December. What birthday treats do you have in store for your fans?

At a birthday party you always turn up with a surprise gift, but this should remain a surprise so to find out you should attend the event, so see you there.

15. Finally, if a fan sees you at the bar at JAMM, what should they buy you to drink?

I think that a litre of beer could be enough haha!

Thanks for your time Max! Looking forward to seeing you play on the 2nd! Tara x

Thank you, see you on 2nd of December.
