Debate: What is THE funniest film ever made?
I have been chatting amongst some of my friends and we’ve been trying to determine (even though it’s all down to individual perspective) what the funniest film ever made is.

What do you think is the funniest film ever made? Also if there any specific gag’s that get you creasing up perhaps you could post a video clip for us all to enjoy, I could use a good giggle at work!

I myself have suggested it is “Airplane” and even though there’s some incredibly funny parts I always seem to get a kick out of this one specific short gag about Ted Striker developing a drinking problem . . .

Loads of people really like Anchorman, I feel like I should give it a go. The only issue is that I have despised everything Will Ferrell has ever done, bar his impression of the architect from the Matrix.. so I dont hold up much hope there!

I'd have to go with any of the Python films really.

I've got the Anchorman boxset, you're welcome to borrow it.

You got through the first 2 series of Transformers yet btw?

Try it, that and Stranger Than Fiction. The latter is a dark comedy drama: get involved.

I didn't think it was all that to be honest, but then I don't really find any films that funny.

I really liked Napolean Dynamite, Elf and Office Space

Stranger Than Fiction

Hasn't that got something to do with writing / words and reality being created? Is that the film?

I fucking love Office Space :-D

Though it's become a parody of my own working life at times as I've gotten older :-(

Certainly is. Has the writer writes her book it narates what Ferral is doing and he begins to hear it in his head. Good film.

Haven't even started them yet. All my spare time is getting put into Ableton at the moment.. with a splash of Assassins Creed every now and then. Need some time on site with nothing to do to get stuck into those.

Yay! Not a lot of people I speak to have heard of it. I even used an example of the film once in my appraisal, to explain how I felt... not sure if it was a good or bad thing that my boss had never seen it.

I do love the bit where they smash the shit out of the fax machine :D

The Jeffrey scene in 'Get Him To The Greek' has me in stitches everytime. Even though it's got Puff Daddy and Russell Brand in it, it's actually hilarious.

We had a spell of watching Seth Rogan films not so long ago. 'Funny People' was good as was as was 'Pineapple Express'. 'Superbad' was also a great watch

As for Napoleon Dynamite, it's genius and one of my favourite films ever, but I'm not sure if it's funny?

This Is Spinal Tap

Probably my favourite, some of the song lyrics are genius.

In that case would you be interested in giving it a new lease of life? You have to watch "Fear of A Black Hat," basically Rusty Cundieff made a Hip-Hop version of this film, the general arch of the story is the same but instead of amps up to 11 you'll have the hip hop equivalent. If you know about your NWA and LL Cool J and all the boys like Onyx from back in the late 80's early 90's this is a very, very funny adaptation, also the songs in this film are equally as funny with Grandma Said Knock You Out and My Peanuts and Booty Juice as examples, I really like both of them.

Here it is:

Me too. I like Russel Brand. I dont want to, but I do. In fact about the only thing I've seen him do that I didn't enjoy was Big Brothers Big Mouth.. and it took me years to get over how awful that was and start watching him in anything else.
