This is what I said on facebook..

"Getting really bored of hearing about the fule 'crisis'. Another example of deceitful Tory spin, cynically and deliberately averting the publics eye from the real issue.. the fact that our democracy can be bought and sold. Seriously everyone, get a sense of perspective!!"

No cars mean the economy grinds to a halt. That affects all businesses, not just Greggs.

Lizard, shutit and have another pasty.

The closest train station to me is 10 miles away, there are no buses, the closest cab company to me is 10 miles away, a taxi to the train station from where i live is about £16 depending on the time of day and after midnight is double that.

The fact i choose to live in the middle of no where is nothing to do with ist as i also work in the middle of nowhere and dont have to fuck about trying to get to London for my job because im not a fucking idiot - if i worked in the city, i would live near where i worked. People who come and live where i live and commute are fucking morons, they spend half their life traveling to and from or being at work and the other half moaning about the commute, i recently told one to fuck off back to the city so people who want to live in the countryside can buy his house, we are not friends on facebook anymore.

I'm not suggesting that there isn't an issue with the possibility (as opposed to certainty) of impending strikes. I am suggesting that the Torys are cowering behind it, in the same way Labour is focusing on the pasty tax as a way of avoiding the real issue that came up this week. The fact it serves neither of them to address the dinners for donors scandal.

Better to brush it under the carpet and rant and rave about issues that will effect most peoples every day lives, try and drum up some immediate selfish concerns that people can get excited about. Rather than the gaping holes in our democracy.

Any wonder why the media would rather talk about fuel and pasties? Because they are lobbyists too.

Or a way to bump consumer spending up a little bit in the last few days of Q1 to prevent the economy being officially in recession again. If you are really cynical...

All more than fair answers Carli, I wasn't specifically accusing of you being a moaning hypocrite I was more referring to people I have previously worked with who behaved like they deserved some kind of medal because they chose to commute from Canterbury every day and occasionally there was transport problems. I'm also slightly smarts that I have always lived quite close to my places of work and have never had any excuse to not go in other than the usual "food poisoning" or "terrible fever" or whatever else I have made up.

We just spent a grand on stamps at my work, they're fucking 60p now! That's almost the cost of a 2011 pasty and half a litre of fuel!

It was never even threatened. It was a possibility nothing more. Kinda proves that the whole thing was a diversionary tactic. But I dont drive, so what do I know.

A cyclist/public transport user has no such excuse and must go into the office regardless.

I tried to tell my boss I wouldn't be in cos of the fuel shortage, he told me if I was proper screwed he'd run me in some toast to keep me going. We both had a giggle bout it. I never got the toast =l

I'm undecided, I am not saying you're wrong but what exactly has happened in the last few days that they so badly needed to divert from? The budget was last week and really, the people that don't understand its implications or don't care about the implications of a tory government are no more likely to care or take any notice this week with a fuel strike then they were last week without one?

Isn't a stamp the same price everywhere you go or have I missed a joke?
