Going to Thailand & Vietnam for 4 weeks after Xmas, anybody have any recommendations for places to visit?

phi phi is my fave place in thailand, then phagnan, samui and tao on the other side.


didnt like vietnam as much, go to laos instead!

I'm going Thailand last week in Sept and first week Oct, been looking for suggestions too.

Just got back a week ago, went to Jomtien next to Pattaya for couple of weeks to train and visit my dad, defo worth a visit got some beautiful islands around it... go back for a month in December

I heard that drugs are big no no over there and they're very strict in their punishments, however, I also heard this weekend (don't know how true this is) that if you go to the moon parties on some of the islands they sell MDMA at counters? Is this somebody telling absolute porkies? At present I don't believe it.

Sounds like total bull shit, you can get the death penalty for selling drugs there so hardly likely to be over the counter at a part filled with police!

I would stay well away from drugs if I was you, they closed a road down in pattaya and tested 400 girls for drugs 47 were positive and its 26days just for testing positive so they threw them all in jail... My mate has been to a full moon party and they do certain cocktails with amphetamines in, but its all pretty hush hush its not over the bar

You can buy the "diet pills" in the chemist which are basically just amphetamines anyway, a lot of people take that but I don't even like speed here so not sure I would bother to be honest, it's a long way to go to take drugs that you can get here without the risk of being arrested. If you stop over in Dubai on the way best to exercise extreme caution too, you can get 2 years having codeine in your system or weed!

Koh Chang, Koh Tao, Haad Juan and Chiang Mai in Thailand.

Koh Tao is a small diving island very beautiful, lots of crazy characters and good bars.

Chiang Mai is an incredibly green city near the mountains in the North with a big zoo lots of interesting stuff to see.

Koh Chang is a wicked island and has lots of fantastic beaches to explore and pretty good nightlife.

If you get a chance to go to Koh Phangan - Haad Rin (full moon party island) make sure you take a boat from the beach round to a little place called Haad Juan, there's two clubs there you should like, Eden and Guys Bar, both with very special menus and some very charismatic bar staff (you would be if you had access to that menu all day...)

hahaha not a peadophile that I'm aware of lol he's in Jomtien, which is few miles from Pattaya no where near as full on, he retired and moved there and lives with his mrs(who isn't underage)

Anyhow, I am am going with a mate who has been recently (only a few months ago) and he was telling me about these shakes you can buy on certain islands at the beach that are made from mushrooms and they're really trippy. he said it was one of the best experiences he'd ever had. Also I saw someone mention "diet pills". my matey said he bought some pills from a pharmacey and they were really rotten, I am guessing it's the same thing.

Explain a bit more please, this sounds interesting?

the diet pills are baiscally speed in little caplets. usually about 10 bucks for 5. the mushroom shakes are popular in thailand and bali and are usually really really chilled out

the full moon parties are fairly open, but i cant say ive ever seen a stand set up selling gear

It's well worth a look! Haad Juan is beautiful too very secluded and lots of crazy characters at Eden and Guys Bar - hippies that look like they've been there for life. The bar itself is well trippy inside! (Take shrooms)
