Event admins
Hi people. We are looking for a few more event admins to help on the site. All events that get uploaded onto the site need to be given the once over by an event admin and then okay'd.

We can't offer you any money, but we will give you the ocassional free beer when we see you out and also our everlasting gratitude.

You need to be pretty savvy with computers, and know the site inside out.. having a basic grip of HTML is a must.

Please give me a call on 07916 8355599 (office hours) if you fancy it!

:)

EDIT - Thanks.. all positions full!

Need more Info on this if possible.

Interesting but what sort of Events Admin do you need. Does one have to have their fingers on the button for their favourite nightclub or is it just about what DJs are appearing locally ????

Do one need to be employed in clubbing land etc ???
Does one have to be authorised by the clubs or local events ??

I do have a little experience on HTML btw

Thanks

Terry

As event admins, you have to do the followings:

Approve/Moderate Venues
  • Delete this venue if its a duplicate of an existing venue.

  • Ensure venue name, place, poscode, address, contact details, picture and any other given information are correct.
  • Only venues details and no specific event details are in it.
  • This is a real venue and not someone's house! Private parties move the event to "a secret location in $place" before you delete the venue otherwise the event will be deleted with it!
  • Links to outside DSI uses target="_blank" to open in new window.

  • Send a PM to the owner of the venue explaining what you have modified/delete and why.

Approve/Moderate Events
  • Delete this event if its a duplicate of an existing event.
  • Event name must not contain DSI if its not an event run by DSI directly. Just being on DSI does not qualify an event as a DSI event!
  • Ensure event name, date, time, venue its at, DJ listings, contact details, brand(s), pictures and any other given information are correct.
  • This is a real event that exists. If its a private party move it to "a secret location in $place".
  • Links to outside DSI uses target="_blank" to open in new window.
  • Send a PM to the owner of the event explaining what you have modified/delete and why.

Approve/Moderate Brands
  • Merge the brands if its a duplicate of an existing brand.
  • Ensure the brand name and picture are correct.
  • This is a real brand and not just "John Doe's house parties"...
  • Note that some brands have same name but are run by different promoters! So beware of those!
If I think of anymore I'll update here...

Neither, what John is refering to is the technical backend of approving events. Basically you and I and anyone who want to can add events to the site via the Add an event option on the top yellow menu bar.

But before they appear 'live' on the site, before they become visable to other users, they need some Admins to check that the coding being uploaded is correct. Some events just hold very basic details, but others are being added by promoters who use html coding and such to 'sell' their night.

What JohnB is asking for here is people who are able to check that the data is ok, so they can OK the event to go live on the site. Hope that makes sense.

They also have photo admins (which is what Sister-Midnight is refering to), who will check that photos are rotated correctly and that there's no naughtiness that shouldn't be etc on photos before they appear live on the site.

It used to all be done by the 3 creaters of the site but they do it in their free time too, so as it grew they have asked for some volunteers to help out.

I think these approval processes help maintain the quality of the site. A lot of websites are fully automated, but this warrants quality control. As it's all done voluntarely DSI is truely a site "for clubbers, by clubbers". :-)

Best clubbing site, ever!!!!

I don't mind helping JB, don't have an awfull lot of time at the mo, but add me if if you need more peeps :-D
