Leeds In August
A few of us are up from Brighton in Leeds weekend 4\5th August. Anyone know the best trance\hard house night in Leeds on Friday and Saturday?? Have been in Leeds once before and found a great club but just can't remember it's name.

Any help appreciated

Cheers Guys and Gals

Your in luck. There is a free festival on Leeds hyde park on the 5th called Unity day. Its only a 15 minit walk from the train station (just ask where the uni is and its right behind that) or 5 mins in a cab. But the same as going to any city that you dont know well DONT tell the cabbie your not from here coz what should cost you £4 will suddenly become £10.

Unity day is like a mini Glastonbury thats been going for 11 years and peolple have started to travel for it. Plenty of live bands of all kinds on a couple of stages. Theres techno, house, and D'nB systems, and even a chill out tent. Its only on from midday till 11pm but as the official after party thers 808 state playing at the west indian centre (another £5 cab ride) supported by 2 rooms of local techno, d 'n b, and dub dj's. All for only a fiver.

You know it makes sense.

Well we are actually at the test match on the Saturday but your plan sounds better - I'm more there for the beer than the cricket to be honest!

Thanks - do u know of any (non cattle market type places) decent friendly places that play a bit of hard house\trance in Leeds Fri or Sat?

If the cricket's shite (which I'm sure I will be) could see ya there- cheers.

Mate, if you don't know Leeds at all then this little festival is half way between the train station and the cricket ground, so doing a bit of both should be simple. The only trance nights i know well have stopped until september, but there is loads of hard house nights in Leeds all the time. Theres a venue about 50 yards from the coach station (5 minit walk from train station) called My house (formerly Stinkys peephouse). I couldn't tell you whats on that night but it's often house or trance/techno and it's not to townie. More a helthy mix of students and "alternative" types. I'll let you know if i see any flyers. But, no word of a lie, there's often a hard/deep house rig at Unity day. But if i'm honest, i couldn't swear to one this year.

Hope i've been some help. :-)
