GLOBAL GATHERING - FUCKING SHIT. DONT EVER GO!!!!!!!
had the shitist time ever. Paid 2 go in the vip friday and saturday. The vip camp site woz just as cramped and shit as the normal 1 just smaller with rank puke covered loos.

Some werdio in our camp site went and told security we had nicked their tent pegs. Which we Didnt! Get a grip mate, tent pegs. So we had our tent raided at 6am. They found a spliffs worth of puff on my boyfriend and chucked him out and got a caution and strip searched.

We then sat in the car park coz we didnt want 2 drive that early and got hounded by about 3 different types of security in different cars and uniforms drug dearlers and people wanting my arm band for free. And a car full of the biggest black security i have ever seen. So we paid £180 for 12 hours in a chav filled field with shit headliners and more old bill then i have ever seen in 1 place in my life. Its intermidating and like crossing a war boarder.

Our other mate got strip searched and had no fucking drugs at all. Nice!

I loved global until 2day but the nine of us that went wont ever b going bk. Global gone comercial and turned in2 a police training camp with mental security nearly running u over ever time u go in and out.

Oh yeah and the free styleised pass that came free with ur ticket which would make u thing its the program neck thing was just a pink arm band with vip weekender on it, with a few clouds on. Oh the style that went into that. Yet another global rip off.

Another 2 of my mates money went missing from my tent when it got raided, Funny that!! They security got right up in my boyfriends face shouting his mouth off cos it had been said that he was Threatened people. If u have ever met him you would KNOW that there was shit. The bloke has never in his life. He just aint like that at all. We just like to go and party.

On my way back into get my stuff sat morning we saw this bloke with no shoes on who asked to use my phone coz he had been robbed in the night while he was in his tent. He had all his money taken, his phone and his arm band cut off. The police werent intrested in him tho.

Fucking gutted!

I used to go to homelands every year they were always really good!! safe people always friendly.

why do they all have to do the 2 day camping thing now tho???? 1 day and night then go home sounds good to me!

went to global once and im afraid yes its a disgrace! ! there was aload of under age!! chavs must have nicked some ones bag they went through it took the money and some other bits i watched them then chuck the bag in a bin. I got it out and handed it in. it had the persons car keys and everything in it still!! they thought it was all funny! little bastards!!

Was my first time at Global and i thought it was fkin amazing tbh. Gods tent was rockin from Sander, A & B, Armin. Ferry took too long to get going for me so i went to see Zabiela who was also amazin. Even gave the Tidy Boys & Andy Whitby a go not usually my style but they were brilliant kept me right awake.

As for a police training camp they need to go back to the drawing board if that was their attempt ive never seen so many dealers in my life. I didnt get my bag searched and the dog was about 40 metres away. By the saturday afternoon the dog wasnt even moving and the copper was kicking it up the arse trying to get it to sniff people.

Never had any problems with security at all.

All in All brilliant and i will be back next year.

so they can squeeze as much cash out of people as possible! Every festival is going the weeekend route to make more money now which is a shame, im thinking of just trying the dutch festivals next year!

I did have a great time, the Gods arena was excellent (apart from Sander, who was awful) Armin & Ferry, Tyas and Above & Beyond were brilliant but the music was so fucking low most of the time, £65+ for a ticket and they dont even turn the music up, its a fuckin disgrace!

as far as security goes i didnt have a problem with them although i did see them come barging through the crowd in the Gods arena a few times! ignorant cunts!

absolutely class weekend, never fails to disappoint. sasha, prydz and sven vath where immense, also thought moby rocked it on the friday. spent most of my time in the bedrock arena on the saturday, sos being the highlight. etienne de cracy's set was good and the cube setup onstage was excellent. i didn't come accross any trouble, generally thought the crowd was ace. yeah you are going to see loads of scallies knocking about but thats part and parcel of the majority of festivals in this country, plus i only noticed the dickheads lurking in and around the dnb tent as i passed by.

had these twats who were constantly of their faces camped near to my lot who from 7 in the morning insisted on consistently playing this industrial/hardcore shite that was pissing everyone off. other than that the camping area was sound and will definitely be heading back next year again.

Ive been going for years and whilst ive definately noticed an increase in certain socially challenged people ive never witnessed any bad behaviour first hand, its a shame that others have to experience it because it ruins the whole experince. I think an increase in exposure and the move away from Godskitchen Global Gathering allowed people to be there who arent there for the same reasons as most. once, no one even knew what global gathering was, it wasnt as big and it was far better. last year i was searched, swabbed and had my bag xrayed and this year nothing, its hit n miss but there was definately a heavier presense of police. and not once did i see a full loo and they all still flushed by sun am( i admit i was clearly lucky and shocked by this) I personally had a great time and sorry others had to go through all that bother. at the end of the day, its a festival, the same moans and groans can be said of other festivals.

your right mate it was painfully low when markus schulz was on, very low when Tyas, A & B and when Armin played Burned With Desire at the end, when it kicked in Armin shrugged his shoulders as if to say sorry coz it was so low!

i thought it got quieter after armins set tbh, hate it when they do that at festivals! why?! no residential area around there! i love loud music loses the atmosphere when so low.

sean tyas played a beast was so annoyed he was on at 5pm first set, not enough people in there but was awesome set love his energetic style!

i didnt have any problems with security or police, the police did tend to stare at you as if you were a criminal when leaving on the sunday morning, was only drinking a tea walking to the car!
the paramedics were really nice, when i went to get some of that foil stuff to keep me warm there was none left, but one of the paramedics gave me advice on how to keep warmer which was sweet, he said there had been so many casualties taken into them, and he shook his head. Think they do a really good job at looking after people unlike the security sometimes.

had wicked time though and glad i didnt camp!

Sorry to hear you had a nightmare weekend, sounds like you had a really bad combinations of things happend, REALLY unlucky. It was my first time, and must say it was crazy and fun, but you could see that if you went to the wrong tent, you just might mix with the wrong crowd.

We heard that the DnB tent had loads of trouble, people being pickpocketed and threatened to be attacked if they didnt give up all there money. But that seems to be Global Gathering, celebration of a mix of all forms of dance, therefore a total wide range of people from across society.

Did notice this on the way out around 4.30 that around the outside the rougher chavvy elements were appearing, defintly glad I did the Saturday only, camping seemed really hit or miss.

With the stealing out of tents issue, why didn't you lock them? When we go camping we always lock our tents up to be on the safe side

with the amount of thefts that have happened at all the other festivals this year, i doubt they will be too bothered if a tent is locked
