NightShift is a brand new club night run by clubbers for clubbers. Each night we have we want people's input into what they want to see and poi is something that everyone said they loved so we have teamed up with one of the best in the scene - CanaDark who will be teaching anyone who wants to learn how to do it at the next Night Shift on the 20th October.

yer sounds good fun but is canadark as good a teacher of poi ?? as i know he is a excellent poi spinner ??? i can spin well but teaching others it not that easy !! my friend sue and both other moderators of poi addicts (techno and infected ) are good teachers and excellent spinners so if we all try help out we should be able to teach lots of new people how to spin !! from info on the poi addicts group page to meet ups at nights out !! we all up for helping others out there !! helping others helps us to learn also how to teach better !! or so i have been told off my teacher friend :) G

Spinning at a full moon party in thailand is not all you'd think it is, I spun there last winter, there are too many thai spinners so poi there is not something that grabs people's attention, even if you are a really good spinner as people have seen too much of it so they're bored of it. The Thai spinners only use basic moves but are extremely fast which is what impresses the audiences. you can pull out all the wraps, BTB stuff, iso's etc etc but people aren't that impressed as there is poi 24hrs a day in Thailand. Go over to places like Laos and Cambodia and theres no-one else spinning-then you get good crowds! In those countries you can get free drinks all night at any bar just by doing a few shows for them, no chance of that in thailand any more.

yer my m8 was telling me the other night that he was running a bar on the beach in thai land and he said he gave out free drinks to any one who came down and did fire spinning !! as this actracted more people to his bar !! customers would pop down to the bar to watch the fire spinners ! as they love to watch any thing like that over there !! and if you put on a good show you would be rewarded off the bar owner !! been thinking of trying out this way in IBIZA ! as i think you could earn a few euro's spinnning at the sunset bars in ibiza !! put a hat on the floor as ibiza loves any thing different !! had lots of fun this summer went out there and spent time at kumaharas bar !! i think putting on a fire display over there would earn you around 200 euro's a night i bet !! busking !! come back with more cash than you went out with !! just the sorting out public liability insurance in case you get some pratt walk into you while spinning !! better safe than sorry !! .

Wouldn't even try it, the sunset bars all have their own spinners and apparently it can get very territorial, they guard their spots fiercely! All the spinners we saw last year were pretty crap so when they came round asking for donations after a show we kindly declined.

Well all I can say is I'm very jealous, you all sound really talented and your piccs are great too - I cant spin for shit but hopefully with a few tips in the right direction I'll be less of a liability!!

Would be great to see you guys out in force at Night Shift, with the massive garden outside as well as the rooms inside there will be loads of room for everyone to strut their stuff and have a good night out too

me and wendypoi are goin round europe next year, starting in france, and working round, will bear that in mind for if we ever get in a hole, or even just instead of fruit picking, didnt think people would actually pay to see poi, i thought it was just a personal thing

i would like to do the europe thing !! so many psy trance partys going on over there !! germany and spain have lots of festivals going on !! yer them guys know how to put on a party

the music for this night isn't really my thing but i think i'll try and come a long just some spinning sessions
