It is with deepest regret that I won't be attending this party tonight.

At about 3pm today (30 Nov) I received a phone call from 'Ali' on behalf of the club telling me not to bother coming - I was less than 2 hours from leaving the house for Brighton (it's around a 5 hour drive for me).

Originally I was pencilled in to play 2-3am, but having just got home from Australia, my sleeping patterns have been erratic so it was decided I was to play 12-1am. I booked a hotel, booked a driver and spent most of today asleep in bed preparing for the night ahead.

In his own words, 'Ali' left a message saying 'The club opens at 11.30pm, you're supposed to be on at 12am but realistically you can only do 3-4am so I'd rather it didn't happen'. I wasn't even given the option to play at a different time.

I spoke to Elmo who apologised for the rudeness of the phonecall and the late late cancellation. As far as I know other dj's and mc's on the night have also been cancelled and the whole event has been downscaled.

If you do choose to attend this event then please realise that it is your right to demand a refund for a falsely advertised event.

To the best of my knowledge this cancellation has nothing to do with Elmo and rests fully on the shoulders of the Ocean Rooms. I have no time for unscrupulous promoters using my name then cancelling me last minute in order to maximise crowds. At the end of the day it's the public who are being ripped off. It's highly unlikely I'll play at this venue in the future.
