Need Yor Views!!
I have found out today that Godskitchen will be replacing Homelands this year with an event called HI FI. I have also found out that it will be a 2 day event and will have a camping site also, with all the usual big name Djs and live acts.

As you know we put on a boat every year on the Sunday (which was known as the Homelands after party). This year we have LEE BURRIDGE AND JAMES ZABIELA AKA "THE LEE AND JAMES SHOW IV" (and continues at the afterparty). This lineup is the normally the biggest party of the year.

I would like to get your views on High Tide running a party the sametime as this event in Winchester. Do you think people will come to the boats if this is on.

Thanks

Dan

Where is the HI FI event, is it Matterly Bowl same as Homelands was?

From a personal point of view, I'd be more inclined to just come to the boat party only that weekend, I went to Global Gathering in 2005 for the first time and if it's anything like that, I won't be bothering with Hi Fi!!!!

I agree with John, I don't think people will necessarily choose HI FI over High Tide but will probably have 2 day tickets for the festival so will make sense for them to stay in Winchester. Especially if they have a good line-up and i'm sure they will as it's the first event.

Do it on the Monday, I know plenty of people that'll be up for a three day session!!

I expect the only people you will get on the boat will be people who couldn't get tickets for Hi Fi, or could only get one-day tickets for the Saturday.

I agree with John - do the boat on the Monday.

Is it big name DJ's and live acts from the same/similar genres then? I quickly read about HIFI somewhere and though it was going to be indie, R&B etc - wouldnt be my cup of tea at all - personally I dont like the mix up music genre festival jobs, especially competing with Zabiela and Burridge with intimate crowd- for me theres no comparison - but Im only me and maybe people will flock there.

Im finding the events and line ups relentless already - there is so much on everywhere - there'll always be a clash but suppose a festival is a BIG clash.

Thats not much help but Id chose your night defo...and yes im bored at work :-)

Some people like Homelands because it is a one day event and might not want to do the whole camping thing so it might be ok still having the after party as its always been. Have to say that i was just happy coming to the afterparty and still had an amazing night!
However how do u please everyone? I personally think that people who know the high tide events and know what they are about will still come along regardless of what day its on!

good shout ridney. dan, high tide is a strong enough brand to weather some global gathering-esque 2 dayer. james + lee are in a different class - and i'm sure if you have Emotive (or soultogether for that matter) downstairs they'll bring 'nuff of a crowd.

thats a tough decision to make from an organising perspective. I'd be inclined to do it on the monday - 3 day session is a definite winner :)

aw bless - i've been pretty much every one since it started, and even when it was creamfields at that same site... not had a bad one yet. in fact the last one was by far the best, but i think that was more cause of tortured soul in the B Bar, magic mushrooms sold on the stalls and zabiela's laser show!

BTW - stu,

this pic is wron-k how the hell did you contort your face to that shape?
