I think Smith is more likable than Tom Cruise and a better actor than Brad Pitt, with a good script (the story is meant to be a vampire - esq film i believe) this could be an excellent film.

i think the film could be good but i think him narrating as it appears he will be .. just one long will smith monologue im not sure any amount of script writing will make up for that

I AM LEGEND by Richard Matheson the book has to be one of the best books I've ever read by far, i just hope the film don't kill it, and by the looks of the trailer, stab stab!!! :(

Having read this marvellous book meself, i am inclined to agree with you Fabe. They have taken far too many liberties with the adaptation for my liking.

The soulless vampire studio executive elite have once again struck a blow for mediocrity!! Big up their collective pigeon chests i think not!!
Who laughed: Fabe-DSI

Fabe loved the book so much he made me read it, it was so good I even read it on my lunch break! Hope the film doesn't ruin it...

I've not read the book (although reliable scources say it's the nuts and I'm inclined to believe them) so I can't really draw a comparison. I'm kinda so so about Will Smith, I think he's improved as an actor and I thought he was pretty good in Ali and In pursuit of Happyness.

i think the film could be good but i think him narrating as it appears he will be ..

I'm pretty sure that was just done for the purposes of the trailer.

Having read about the original story it does look like they've taken a few liberties with the story to make it more action focused but I noticed that there were snippets in there showing how he coped with the isolation of being alone and if they get the balance between that and the action right then it might not only do the book justice but it might also turn out to be a cracking film.

They have taken far too many liberties with the adaptation for my liking.

Like I say I haven't read the book (I'll make sure I do before I see the film tho) but what sort of things can you guys see in the trailer that make you guys believe they've taken too many liberties with the original story?

Er isn't that the exact same trailer as the one in the original post?

What have you seen in the trailer that makes you think they've killed the book Fabe?

Ahh hadn't seen that trailer. The trailer in the original post by Sheep is the same as the one you just posted.

Read up on the original story and other two films on Wikipedia and just by waht I've seen so far it's looks like this is a amalgamation of all three. That may or may not be a good thing but we'll have to see I guess.

Watching the trailer again, there's a good chance that they might of scraped the vampires and made a mutant style thing. :(

So you can add that to list Tee-J ;)
