All good points guys, i will be using my home set up, primarily to do demo's!

I play at most of Londons biggest clubs on a regular basis so im used to powerful speakers!

And they wont leave my house so dont need them to be anymore than bedroom monitors!

just get the best sound possible for your budget then. if i were you i would spend at least £200 and stick to passive speakers because the active ones at that money won't sound as good.

if you are ever going to use them for production then you might want something with a flat response like a dynaudio BM5 but if you're not then just listen to 5 or 6 pairs and pick the ones you like best - everyone's tastes are different.

Oh, and in response to the Behringer comment above, they look exactly the same as my Genelec studio monitors, and if they're anything like them then you're right they are worth the money.... can't believe they didn't get done for copyright or something... anyway, give them ones a listen for sure coz mine cost £1600 and they are the bollocks, but those look identical...

i just said that passive ones at that money would probably be better.

saying that though, sarah main has those behringers and i was really impressed with them, even for parties. they are excellent for that money.
