The makeshift rocked it, lost it thread as Wubbles seems to have done nothing of note for the last few weeks.
Rocked it:

Getting an unexpected phone call asking me if I wanted to go camping for the weekend.
3 litre box of Westons Organic.
Getting out in the fresh air.
The fact that camping with the Boultons isn't much like camping, they've got a tent nearly as big as my maissonette and seriously everything they need for a comfortable weekend for everyone.
The weather.
Village pubs on the canal.
Getting home on Sunday afternoon to find a party going on at home after everyone staggered back from Godiva Festival in Cov.
Being coerced to cook a beef roast.
More nomnomnom posh cider!

Lost it:

Earl being taken to hospital after throwing up for three days, allergic reaction to some medication for syatica.
Not being at BeatHerder festival.
The state of my flat now.

Rocked It

- Wireless; specifically Digitalism & Aphex Twin being fucking amazing
- Pub session Sunday

Lost It

- Wireless; specifically Kei$ha, The Streets, ModeStep, and Nero being utter shite.
- The Chemical Brothers putting on a poor show too.

(Apologies, was going to do a thread this week but am in Madrid on business until Friday and have limited connectivity)

Haven't been on here properly for a while so I have a bit of a essay, the past few weeks have been mad.

Rocked it
-Got promoted to promotions manager (I'm not taking the title of manager until I can actually manage myself).
-Found out I'm working Bestival and going/staying there in a tourbus.
-Had a race on my bike with a midget on a BMX. Literally, it was bestest. thing. ever.
-Worked on the Red Bull & Team Love stage at St Pauls Carnival and got pissed and payed for it.
-About to go to NASS with the boys to go set up our little bit and stay there for a week in the tourbus.

Lost it

-I'm ill and I have to work.
-I'm skint and most of the stuff I'm doing at the moment isn't really a bread winner.
-Not much else apart from that it's been a good.

the small bit of Kesha I saw all left me feeling truly disheartened by modern music.

I almost had to liase for her at Glasto for my boss' tent... Just because she's supposedly such hard work, really boring; all she wants to talk about is drinking and how wild she is... No one wanted to do it but me... I was so excited, I was gonna be really really obnoxious and then try to crack into her... But sadly her manager took a look at the dressing room we prepared for her and said no. I was sad, she looks like a right ginger whore to. Musically though she is terrible though... Mic on her head set; no consistent volume due to the lack of mic technique (poor, poor sound man) and she was running through a autotune. Nuff said. I think the term 'Cash Cow' just about covers it... Did she have the person in a cock suit when you saw her? That was the best thing about the whole show!

Nero

Had a little peek at their stage too, flashy isn't it... Ableton and 2 controllers basically... Nice 'dance moves' though... Thing is they will be massive in a year simply because they're under the same management as Chase and Status.

The Chem's were fucking awesome when I saw them at Glasto!

I think this whole thing about modern music is, it's great... If you don't look at popular artists. I saw Ghostpoet and he was amazing!

I've seen Digitalism and Aphex Twin at least 4 times in the past and the person who sorted out my ticket wanted to watch some of the others so I went a long for the ride as Digitalism were the only people I really wanted to see and they were done by 4pm. I am just shocked that anyone would look at those names on a line-up and actually want to go and see them, they looked like they had never played live before it truly was an amateurish performance all round.

Plus, it's nice to actually spend the day outside at an outdoor festival rather than being stuck in a sweaty tent, I am hoping Lovebox maybe a little more entertanining and less teenage.

that's fair enough - it's just the crowd you descibed and the one I experienced were quite different. I met a lot of chilled and chatty people and it's probably because we watched different acts.

I met a few cool people on the benches and the crowd was friendly don't get me wrong, it wasn't full of dickheads, but there didn't seem to be many genuine music lovers there. I got asked for pills so many times I lost count, perhaps I look dodgy or my battered face encouraged people to ask me but it did start to get annoying!

I just wanted to check out a few people I wouldn't normally watch but I think there's clearly a reason I wouldn't normally go to see them, I thought J Cole was good though.

Maybe because you advertise so often on DSI about your constant drug use that word got round? ;)

Doesn't sound too healthy?!

Its not really. Decided to go to the Drs this morning and give them a long list of stuff to fix. He reckons he's cracked it. Something to do with less booze, more sleep and the occasional vegetable. I don't really understand all that medical mumbo-jumbo. Ah well, Friday again! :D
